It’s springtime and Himeno has moved to a new town from Tokyo, Tajimi City. The question is, what she plans to do at the new school?
Surprisingly, the show is only about 12 minutes long, which seems a bit short. However, the total runtime is 15 minutes, so it’s only 12 minutes less than a typical episode. Regardless, it’s still a fun 12 minutes. The second part is the live action part, which I won’t cover.
With that, Himeno, her father moved to Tajimi City into his grandmother’s house because his company went bankrupt. He decided to start a business instead. We find out that his wife passed away when Himeno was 4 years old. Of course, this meant that she barely knew her mother.
Sure, Himeno’s next door neighbor, Naoko got the short end of the stick. Yes, they are in a different class, but she is close to Himeno. Of course, there is Mika who seems very enthusiastic about joining the pottery club. She becomes amazed by the quality of all the mugs that Himeno brought. Yep, she basically hugs her and becomes infatuated with her. I can see where this relationship is heading.
Of course, this talk about love is just something different. Mika just wanted to bring Himeno to the pottery club. There, she meets the club president, Touko. Yep, as expected, Himeno receives the same reaction as Mika did while revealing the creator of the mugs, Tokigawa Himena.
The funny thing is that Himeno finds out that it’s her mother. Yes, she was part of the pottery club at the same school her daughter goes to. Himeno also tries making a bowl, but she kind of messes up in the end. Still, I guess this can explain why the smell of clay felt so nostalgic to her. Sure, she gives sculping a pot a try with Touko helping her. Sadly, she messes it up in the end, but at least she had fun.
Of course, when Himeno reveals that she will give the pottery club a try, her father reacted funny. I guess this surprised him, which is not too surprising since his wife was an interest in it. Given that she passed away, although we don’t know the cause, I can understand the fear of the same happening. Thankfully, he eventually accepts his daughter’s decision. After all, it’s what his daughter wants to do.
Still, I wonder how Himeno’s relationship with her friends will play out. I am curious if Hiemko and Mika will become a reality. We must wait and see.
A good start for the Spring season. Himeno X Mika or Himeno X Naoko both sound nice.
So do not like the “dead parent” trope. I guess it serves a purpose this time so it is what it is.
Definitely fun start, but still I wonder how the pairings will turn out. Also, I can understand that, but I guess it is what it is unfortunately.
