Now that Teio has fully recovered, eager to run in her comeback race. While things are looking up for her, she hits yet another snag.
While McQueen lost first place to Rice Shower, she is hard at work not to lose against Teio. Before we focused on that, some cameo horse girls won some races. Winning Ticket wins a race after a three-way fight to get first place between Team BNW. Also, it seems that Ikuno only won second place at Yasuda Kinen. Still, I am not too sure about Twin Turbo winning anything giving her track record so far.
Meanwhile, Mejiro Palmer tries to sniff some flowers, a bee stung her nose. How does she not realize that there is a bee in the flower? The funny thing is that they are somehow related along with Mejiro Ryan and Meijiro Dober of course. Still, it’s funny how McQueen asks why Palmer’s nose is red. Even so, Palmer is not going to let McQueen win without a fight at Takurazuka Kinen. Of course, McQueen is determined to win since it’s her turn of course.
Of course, it’s nice to see Teio meet with Rudolf, Teio’s reaction is funny. It’s not too surprising since she hasn’t talk to her for a while. Yes, ever since she injured herself. It’s not too surprising to see her avoid her since she felt guilty of not meeting expectations. Of course, it’s nice that Teio talked to Rudolf as she peddled a swan boat. Still, it’s a cute moment and a nice date if you can call it that.
During practice, everything looks like it’s going smoothly until Teio suddenly fell. Yes, this even shocks Rudolf who looked forward to her comeback. It’s obvious that the writers want to make Teio’s struggles relate to what happened to her real-life counterpart. Yes, it’s heartbreaking to see the fracture happen not once, but three times. Now this time, the chance of recovery is low. There is a possibility that she might have to retire.
While McQueen manages to win the Takurazuka Kinen, Teio tries her best to keep herself motivated. She even goes back to her former role of helping Team Spica as a leader. Still, not being able to have her comeback race and some of her fans giving up hope completely has Teio feeling down. There is also the fear that she will fall behind the rest of her members on Team Spica. Of course, this is not the worst of this.
After some time passed by, McQueen asks Teio to keep time. After seeing how strong and fast McQueen is, Teio loses confidence that she will ever match her speed. It becomes evident when she becomes hesitant to give her the time, and instead apologizes.
It’s apparent that Teio was overconfident when she raced McQueen the first time and lost. To me, I don’t think she doesn’t deserve this kind of misfortune. Sure, Suzuka overexerted herself and really injured herself, but she manages to bounce back. I have a feeling that Teio can do the same. I think it would make a good headline to see her successfully stage a comeback after injuring herself three times against all odds. Her former fans who think that she can’t do it will eat crow. Whatever happens, we’ll find out soon enough.
The writers went as far as make Teio injury prone. Dang. That’s overkill. Hopefully she’ll either make a miraculous against all odds comeback or find another route to greatness.
Yes, that is just too much, but I do hope she will make a comeback. As expected, if Suzuka managed to dodge death compared to her real life counterpart and have a comeback, I think Teio can do the same.
Not to mention, If I can get Haru Urara, who haven’t won a single race in real life win in the mobile game, I think pretty much anything can happen in the anime.
