Urasekai Picnic – Episode 9 – The Strange Case of the Old Lady and the Monkey

March 1, 2021 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
As expected, Toriko has a thing for Sorawo as she makes it obvious.

Now that Sorawo and Toriko got rid of the ninja cats that are bothering Akari, she of course has another request. Yep, it’s yet another creepy internet folklore. This time, it’s affecting her childhood friend.

After facing off against the ninja cats from last time and Akari mentioning Satsuki’s name, it causes Sorawo to become pensive. Of course, on the way to Kozakura’s house, Toriko mentions how long Sorawo’s hair has grown. Yep, she wants Sorawo to grow her hair long since she believes it will look cute since it’s dark and silky. I think so too. Surprisingly, Sorawo doesn’t reject the idea, which is another subtle sign that she is falling for her. Of course, she doesn’t realize that it’s something peculiar. More on that later.

As expected, Akari apparently knows Kozakura.

At Kozakura’s house, Akari was there. Yep, she is asking for more help with an internet rumor affecting her childhood friend, Ichikawa Natsumi., which of course is a sign that she isn’t going away anytime soon.

Akari becomes amazed that Sorawo knows about the old lady and monkey.

Besides bringing a gift and making some tea, Akari knows about Kozakura because of Satsuki. Yep, her friends reveal more details about that later. Of course, she asks about the name Sannuki Kano and the strange monkey her friend’s yard. As expected, Satsuki knows about this internet folklore. It involves an old lady and human teeth. Sorawo apparently ran across this when she gave some human teeth to her as the monkey said. Then the lady and monkey never appeared again.

Akari introduces Natsumi to Toriko and Sorawo.

Of course, that internet folklore is now affecting Natsumi. She threw the teeth out. Of course, strange things happened when Toriko and Sorawo met her. Natsumi works as a car mechanic. She recently found strange hair in a car shaft on a car that is involved in an accident. Afterwards, she found some teeth the monkey left.

Instead of giving it to the old lady, she threw it away. As a result, an old lady appeared and hanged herself. Of course, she didn’t think much of it until her dad injured himself on the job while a hit and run driver struck her mother. Also, she received creepy messages and people wanting to stab her. Yep, she should have kept the teeth and gave it to that old lady instead of throwing it away.

I would react the same way Sorawo did.

With that, Sorawo, Toriko and Akari tries to find the teeth. They eventually dug up an urn filled with human teeth, remains of animal, which is missing a skull, and a buried Shinto shrine box. I must admit that the urn filled with human teeth was creepy.

Yep, Satsuki tried to take Akari away, but she failed.

While digging for stuff, Natsumi mentions some things about Satsuki having a strange attraction for Akari. While, she never met her, she still came to that conclusion. But yes, Natsumi was afraid that Satsuki will take Akari away from her. That is until Akari learned karate. Still, it’s good that things turned out well in the end.

A scary Kano appears.
Akari becomes crazy like she did in the last episode
Yep, that was brutal.

As expected, the creepy old lady known as Sannuki Kano appears and of course wants the girls’ teeth. She ripped teeth from Natusumi’s and Akari’s mouth including some blood shooting out of course. Of course, Sorawo through her right eyes awaken the other side of Akari that causes her to become berserk. She beats the crap out of the Kano before she utterly her. Thankfully, she and Natsumi are safe, and they managed to put their teeth back in their mouth. Of course, Toriko does not approve Sorawo of doing this. Given how creepy Akari act, I doubt Sorawo will dare to use her right eye on a human being.

At least all things that ends well for Akari and Natsumi.

After all this, it seems that Toriko mentions about Sorawo wanting to grow her hair out. Of course, she comes to the realization that she might look like Satsuki. This makes me wonder that Toriko intends to replace Satsuki with Sorawo. I guess one can only speculate.

Nice to meet Akari’s sexy redhead mechanic future girlfriend. Nattsun had many reasons to feel stressed, like Akari being swept off her feet by a hot chick. Oh, and a very cruel curse.

Psycho-Killer Akari destroying the evil tooth fairy was freakin’ badass!

The plot thickens between Sorawo, Toriko and Satsuki. I’m sure things will work out between them but the road to happiness will be even bumpier than before now.

I never expected Akari’s childhood friend or more than best friends. Still, it’s good that she is worried about Satsuki trying to take Akari away. Still, I agree Akari beating the crap out of the creepy lady is definitely something.

Still, I still wonder what happened to Satsuki, although I highly doubt she will come back to her usual state. I think Toriko might realized this already.
