Now that Adachi finally shared how she feels to Shimamura, it’s obvious that Adachi wants to do something over spring break. Yes, staying over her house.
From last time, it seems that Adachi finally gained the courage to confront Shimamura and shared how she feels. From the looks of it, it seems that it worked. During physical education class, Taeko and Akira finally finds Shimamura and Adachi. Yes, it has been a while since they last saw them. As always, Taeko and Akira are close.
Shimamura also notices that Taeko’s hair smells different. Taeko mentions that since she stayed at Akira’s house, she took a bath there. This of course gives Adachi an idea to stay at Shimamura’s house over Spring Break. After Taeko and Akira left, Adachi ask if she can stay at Shimamura’s house. She didn’t care if the bath is small, she just wanted to be close with Shimamura. Also, not just for one day, but for a few days.
Eventually, Shimamura eventually accepts. After hanging out after school, Adachi basically packs the kitchen sink. Adachi also imagines herself sitting between Shimamura’s legs. This time, she won’t run away. Still, it’s funny to see Shimamura awake seeing Adachi bring all her stuff over for a few nights. Sadly, she couldn’t sleep in Shimamura’s bedroom since her little sister won’t approve of it. Instead, she sleeps upstairs. Of course, Adachi came prepared with shampoo too.
Of course, the funny thing is that they don’t do anything drastic. Sure, they spent time together, but more towards hanging out. On the third day, she decides to do something bold. She asks Shimamura if she can sit between her legs. Of course, Shimamura accepts as long Adachi doesn’t run away.
As expected, Adachi didn’t hesitate as she feels her hear thumping. Adachi eventually scoots closer and her back feels Shimamura’s chest. Of course, she fell sleep after Adachi did it. When Adachi was about to kiss Shimamura, her little sister came in. Yep, Adachi had to abort the mission. Either way, at least it’s better than her first attempt. Still, it’s interesting to see Adachi talk with Shimamura’s mother about her daughter when she is out.
You might be wondering, why Shimamura went out. She brought Adachi upstairs and put something on Adachi’s hair. Yes, it is a hairclip and Shimamura got the same one. Yes, Adachi’s dream of getting something matching with Shimamura has finally become true.
Obviously, Adachi became so happy that she hugs her. She was about to confess to her, but she said that Shimamura looks lovely instead. It seems that Adachi haven’t got the courage yet, but at least it’s getting somewhere. After all, Shimamura finally accepts Adachi’s request to sleep in the same room.
Eventually, break ends, and it seems that while Adachi and Shimamura sets aren’t next to each other, at least they are closer. Not only that, it seems that Shimamura doesn’t mind being closer to Adachi. After all, it’s the cherry blossom that is right in front of her. Either way, I see this as a small victory of Shimamura starting to figure out her romantic feelings towards Adachi.
Final Thoughts
I have to admit that this is a nice and enjoyable yuri story. Of course, while Shimamura isn’t shy, she doesn’t seem interested in relationships since she believes they don’t last. Of course, Adachi on the other hand is very introverted and shy and doesn’t really interact with anyone. She mostly spends her time skipping class, until she met Shimamura.
While the relationship develops slowly, I enjoyed every episode of it. Sure, Adachi feels anxious about sharing her feelings, especially with her fantasies of her doing something romantic with Shimamura, it’s nice to see her develop as a character. Thankfully, she eventually gains the courage to tell how she feels towards the end despite her struggles.
Also, Shimamura somehow figures out that not all relationships end abruptly, and that Adachi is one of those relationships. Coupled with the good art direction just adds to the special moments on some of the episodes.
Yes, there are the characters. While Yashiro was an enjoyable addition, the story could work without her. Also, it’s nice to see that Adachi and Shimamura isn’t the only pairing, but also Akira and Taeko. Yes, they are a cute pairing, but still, it’s nice to see some development between the two besides the main one. Still, the last episode kinds of make you want more. I guess time will tell in that respect
Most excellent show, this was. Another potential yuri classic for the record books, yes indeed. I had a feeling the finale would be a “lure” but at least we ended the show with Adachi’s efforts paying off as Shimamura’s slowly realizing Adachi’s a special place in her heart. One day her mind will understand what her heart’s been trying to tell her for a long time.
NagaHino were excellent while Yashiro found her calling as Imouto’s soul mate. Hopefully they too will have a wonderful future together.
I agree, but I hope that there is a sequel if they decide to make a sequel. I kind of want one since Adachi is a precious cinnamon bun given how hard she tries to get closer with her beloved. Also, I know the manga is completed, but I kind of want to see how Yagate Kimi ni Naru ends in anime form as well.
