At last, Riri manages to have Yuyu accept her request to become a Schutzengel. However, she still doesn’t know the story behind Yuyu’s past and why she abandoned her. We finally learn that reason.
It’s obvious that Riri is happy that Yuyu will be her Schutzengel. Now it’s official as Riri receives a paper proving that Yuyu is now her Schutzengel. Still, she still doesn’t know why Yuyu is still so cold. She also asked about her rare skill. Yuyu said it’s Lunatic Trancer, even though it’s not really. But this will become more important when Riri learns the past from an unlikely source.
After the morning tea, the girls watch the other lilies on duty trying to fight the Huge. Apparently, the academy attracts the huge to reduce the damage from elsewhere. A few months moment, Yuyu works with Riri to activate her Magie in her Charm. However, this doesn’t feel like a training session, but rather Yuyu being afraid of Riri. Thankfully, after a whole week, Riri managed to gain control of her Magie. As they say, perseverance is key and Riri is filled with it since she wants to be with Yuyu. Still, it’s funny how Kaede wants to massage Riri’s body, but not in the areas she needs it in the bath.
While Riri is in the bath with her friends, she sees members of Alfheim. During the battle at Koshu, it seems that Yuyu lost her Schutzengel during that battle two years ago. This can explain why Yuyu is so cold towards Riri. This does remind me what Yuyu is experiencing is very similar to what Yachiyo experienced. She even unwilling to get close to people since she is afraid of closing them if they get close.
As for Yuyu, it’s different and harsher. During the battle of a restore type Huge, she sees a bunch of Charm’s that were once belong to various Lilies. This sight triggered her bad memories and activated her Lunatic Trancer where she goes berserk. Thankfully, nobody got hurt, but we learn about that skill. She goes berserk until her Magie is deprecated. She attacks both huge and fellow Lilies indiscriminately. After a Huge attacked and killed her, she went into a rage.
In reality, Yuyu accidentally stabbed Misuzu while she is under the effect of her Lunatic Trancer ability. Before Misuzu passed away, she reminds her that her power can end up destroying her. This can explain where Yuyu’s first Charm went as Misuzu took it before she passed a
After hearing this, Riri wants to snap her beloved out of her rage. While the first try was unsuccessful, she managed on the second try. Yuyu was able to snap back to reality in a nice scene. With the combined Magie, they done a combination attack to defeat that Huge that everyone tried to take down once and for all.
Either way, it’s nice that Riri is finally able to defrost Yuyu. Yep, she done it a lot quicker compared to Iroha. At least Yuyu won’t be afraid of Riri anymore now that she finally gotten over her past troubles. It’s a good thing since Yuyu’s kinder side is a lot better than her cold one. With that, maybe she won’t try fighting Huge on her own anymore and being so risky. After all, she has a new beloved by her side.
Fantastic episode with so much gay and once again the power of yuri overcomes darkness. Riri still has work to do but she’s on her way to heal Yuyu and win her heart.
