Houkago Teibou Nisshi – Episode 2 – Hina’s First Time Casting

April 14, 2020 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
Hina’s mother is surprised that her daughter brought a cooler of fish back home.

Now that Hina reluctantly joins the Breakwater Club, she continues her life in high school

Believe it or not, when Hina returned home with a chest filled with horse mackerel, her mother seems surprised. She thought Hina will join the handicraft club. Yes, this is what happens when Yukki drags her in to join the club. Still, I find it funny how her dad is not surprised that the Breakwater club still exists. I guess this is given since it’s a seaside town after all.

As expected, Hina is not good at sports.
It seems that Hina can’t catch up to Natsumi.

Aside from that, as Hina bikes to school, Natsumi finally shows up as they head to school. Of course, Hina threads this day since it’s physical education. It seems that Hina struggles with all the physicals. Her lack of stamina kind of reminds me of the likes of Hana from Slow Start. As expected, Hina’s lack of stamina becomes more apparent when Hina and Natsumi head to the clubhouse. It’s so far away that Hina couldn’t catch up.

Yuuki being lasy again.
Either way, Hina is untangling those lines.

When they got there, Yuuki is laying on the couch and have Hina a bunch of fishing reels to untangle. Yep, she tricked her, and Makoto doesn’t seem to like that. I guess Makoto wasn’t the only one that did what Hina had to do. At least Hina got something out of it, her own fishing rod.

Caught read handed!
Hina is happy that she received her fishing rod.
Opps, Makoto and Yuuki got a nasty surprise.
Nasumi is obviously not happy that Hina did what she did.
Nasumi really got the short end of the stick.

At last, Makoto teaches Hina how to throw the line. I find it hilarious how Hina’s attempts failed numerous times. Yep, the first time, the hook caught Natsumi’s skirt and she got really angry at Hina. Also, Hina had the end of the fishing line hit Natsumi’s head several times. Is this payback for Nasumi getting ahead of Hina while they head to the clubhouse? Maybe.

Thankfully, she manages to throw the line  after using a floating device with Natsumi’s head drawn on it. It only takes Yuuki’s showing how to do it that Hina managed to do it. I guess Makoto is a bit too verbose when it comes to teaching others. Hopefully next time, Nasumi will treat Hina better so she won’t face that kind of treatment again.

Hina and Natsumi are cute together. Poor Natsumi. It was fun seeing her get hurt.

I could listen to Yuuki talk all day.

Was hoping the next episode would be a beach one but alas.

Definitely, but of course, Natsumi kind of deserves the punishment as you see obviously.
