While things have been chaotic this month with the whole coronavirus scare. As expected, things haven’t been going well with my blog. In fact, losing motivation again. I will share my concerns along with my preliminary picks for the spring season.
It seems that this is becoming a common reoccurrence every year with my frustrations on the direction this blog is heading. I look at my stats or the number of followers on Twitter and become upset. During the past few months, the number of comments made is low that it becomes disheartening and demotivating. The social aspect of blogging is one of the more enjoyable aspects as I enjoy interacting with others. Without it, I kind of feel lonely.
Not only that, the number of likes, which is the second important indicator of how my posts are doing went down significantly as well. Moreover, the number of Twitter followers have remained stagnant for the past few years as well or dropped a little. That too is not a good sign either.
At this point, it’s becoming really demoralizing, especially given how much effort I put into creating content that I kind of want to give up. I don’t receive any indication that people enjoying the content I create with the lack of comments, decline of likes, and followers. Sure, I became frustrated as of late, especially other blogs are having no problem getting several or many comments. This makes me feel that I am doing something wrong. Moreover, when I comment on other peoples’ posts, I never receive a comment back. This is why I don’t even bother posting comments on other blogs. Why bother when they are not going to do the same.
I guess some of this has to do with the three difficult years of a painful job search. While I continued to blog, the ideas for editorial posts is simply not there. Also, I kind of socially isolated myself. Although I always consider myself as being somewhat an introvert. But this has gotten more to the extreme, which isn’t good. This is to be expected since the past three years were difficult times. I am reluctant to share things about my interests and my life.
Excluding what is happen currently, things are looking up. I do want to interact more, but with dropping comments, likes and follower numbers (including mutual followers that unfollow me and I unfollow back), this is becoming very discouraging. If you want to help me out and enjoy my content, please leave comments if possible, a like or follow me back on Twitter. It will be a big help. I want to focus on creating great comment and socializing with others instead of worrying the state of my blog.
With that out of the way, I will share what I plan to watch this spring.
Tamayomi
Air Date: April 1, 2020
Studio: studio A-CAT
As expected, this is this season’s Manga Time Kirara adaptation. This time, it’s focused on a girls’ high school baseball team. A girl named Yomi Takeda is not able to get very far in the tournament since she can’t use her signature move. She decided to stop playing baseball, until she reunited with her childhood friend Tamaki Yamazaki. Apparently, she can catch Yomi’s magic throw.
From a screenshot, there is that famous screenshot of a certain pairing, is this an indication that this girls’ baseball story will have yuri pairings? Most likely, although I haven’t read the manga yet. Sure, Cinderella Nine has some potential pairings, but it has some shortcomings. Will this one be better similar to Harukana Receive? We’ll see.
Houkago Teibou Nisshi
Air Date: Apr 4, 2020
Studio: Doga Kobo
It’s yet another slice of life anime that focuses on fishing. While the main character who likes being indoors moving to a seaside town. While she finds the Embankment Club interesting and joins, she doesn’t seem to like sea creatures. She eventually appreciates the ocean.
Still, I wonder how she gains the interest in it. I think it this show will be enjoyable to watch since Doga Kobo is working on the production.
With that, this is what I plan to watch. As expected, the list is subject to change, and I may add more titles to cover. With that, feel free to share what you plan to watch in the comments.
There’s barely anything to watch next season, sadly. Still, Tamayomi and that fishing anime seem pretty legit so I would definitely be watching. Sorry also about the state of your blog. Hope you can capture more audience along the way. Guess its due to extreme competitiveness which has caused such a downward spiral for you.
It’s not too surprising since last year faced a similar situation of not being that many shows to watch. Yes, most of it is probably because of the Coronavirus.
The blogosphere isn’t as competitive or active compared to the 2010s, which is more active. There has been a shift towards social media since then. I just have terrible luck, especially given the recent editorial posts hardly received any likes and comments while other blogs don’t have much issue. It’s something I need to figure out, but still frustrated.
Hopefully you’ll be alright during the pandemic.
We’re watching the same shows. Plus with Spring being a barren season (for us anyway) it gives us time to work on our backlogs and other stuff.
I’m doing fine and fortunate to still have a job since a lot of people lost their job because of this virus. And yes, I haven’t left my house in weeks, which is not a big deal.
But yes, it looks like Spring this years looks to shape up as being just as bad as last year in the amount of shows I am interested in. It’s a shame, but I do have a backlog after all.?
