Iroha and Yachiyo finally meets the person they desire the most. The only problem, are they the real or simply a mirage.
From the looks of it, it didn’t take long for Iroha to realize that the Ui in front of her is not real. It become obvious when Ui mentions Kamihama City and saving magical girls. She keeps repeating this, causing Iroha to freak out. Even if this Ui is fake, I have to admit that she is really adorable. After realizing this, it appears that Ui disappeared.
Meanwhile, Mifuyu is trying to lure Yachiyo. Yachiyo asks her personal questions to see if Mifuyu is actually real. She answered them correctly. It’s obvious that Mifuyu is very important to Yachiyo given the flashback in the beginning. That is until Mifuyu started believing the rumor of saving magical girls.
When Yachiyo asked the last question about what Mifuyu is doing all this time, she tries to lure her to stay in the rumor forever. This is when Iroha came to reveal that the Mifuyu Yachiyo is talking to is fake. When that happened, Mifuyu started attacking her.
Thankfully, Yachiyo stabbed the fake Mifuyu in the back with her staff. Iroha notices that Yachiyo’s soul gem is getting dark and uses her grief seed. She can’t simply abandon Yachiyo and thought she can hang on for a bit longer. Of course, Yachiyo doesn’t want her to use it as Iroha earned it With the fake Mifuyu gone, the Rumor of the Machibito Horse appears. Iroha nearly gets knocked out by the Machibito Horse.
When Yachiyo came to rescue her, she notices that Iroha’s soul gem is really dark. Iroha thought she is a goner as Tsuruno and Yachiyo escapes while carrying her. This is when Iroha feels a strange sensation and a witch came out of her hair. This witch and magical girl hybrid completely defeats the Rumor of the Machibito Horse. Eventually, Mami notices it and attacks the witch part of Iroha.
The witch eventually releases Iroha’s body with her being unconscious. With that, Mami tries to kill her thinking that Iroha is a witch taking the appearance of a human, Yachiyo stopped her. Thankfully, she was able to deescalate the situation.
The interesting difference between the game and the anime is that Iroha is unconscious after using her Doppel. In the game, her soul gem is completely purified and she retains consciousness. Also, Momoko appears wondering what happened. Also, in the game, she ask her parents to stay at Yachiyo’s house since it’s late. In the anime, Yachiyo brought her there for obvious reasons.
Still, it’s interesting to see some flashbacks with Yachiyo’s time with Mifuyu. This coincides with the current event that happening in the localized version of the game. Either way, it becomes very important as the story progresses. Even so, it’s nice to see some glimpses of Yachiyo and Iroha pairing finally seeing some development. Iroha sacrificing her grief seed to purify Yachiyo’s clouded soul gem is very apparent.
Although their special ones they saw were obviously fakes their words still stung, especially Yachiyo. Iroha tried but wasn’t strong enough to do much.
Very interested in what the deal is with Iroha’s Witch form and how she could turn back unlike Sayaka. I still say it’s because her wish was nobler than Sayaka’s. That guy was gutter trash.
Mami’s back for real this time. Still hope she finds a Nagisa to snuggle with in this timeline,
It wouldn’t be Meduka Meguca without things getting messed up. The time has come.
As they say, the real thing is always better. But yes, what happened to Iroha will eventually get revealed later on and I won’t spoil it.
At least Mami didn’t end up killing Iroha by accident.
