Javelin and Laffey saved Ayanami from the abyss. Ayanami finds herself in bed and “taken prisoner.” What will she do in the meantime?
Last time, Javelin and Laffey saved Ayanami. While asleep, Ayanami had flashbacks of falling into a dimensional rift. She eventually wakes up and sees Ark Royal. Apparently, Ark reveals that Azur Lane took Ayanami in as a prisoner. Of course, not a prisoner in the literal sense.
Meanwhile, despite the heroic actions of Javelin and Laffey saving her, Hornet decides to punish them. Yes, they have to look after Ayanami. To me, it doesn’t seem much of a punishment at all.
While Ayanami accompanies them while they go shopping, a team of young boat girls from the Eagle Union, namely “The Little Beavers” look up to Ayanami. They are amazed by her pitching skills. Still, Ayanami finds them being friendly towards her weird. Also, she seems surprised that Akashi is running a shop, which surprises her. It’s not too surprising since Akashi can do business anywhere as long there are customers. Even so, she doesn’t seem to know what is happening in the Sakura Empire.
Meanwhile, things are dire for the Sakura Empire. Not only they don’t know where Ayanami is, losing Akagi is devestating. It seems that Project Orochi is becoming way more dangerous than expected. Not only that, the cube is still under Azur Lane’s position. I guess this is what you get when you make the deal with the devil. Still, Kaga wants to go ahead although Nagato and Mutsu is having second thoughts about this.
Aside from that, Unicorn eventually joins Javelin and Laffey having fun with Ayanami. They went to various activities such as eating at restaurants, fortune telling, and having fun. I find it funny how Ark Royal is enjoying looking at them having fun that her nose started to bleed by how cute it is. Of course, this kind of gets her into trouble as she wants to suck the blood of a young cook during dinner time. She is starting to become a bit creepy like a certain maid.
In other news, it seems that nothing bad happened to Enterprise despite being controlled by the Black Cube. During the night, Ayanmi couldn’t sleep and decides to take a walk. Apparently, she talks to Enterprise and wonder why everyone in Azur Lane was so nice to her. We eventually find out that Ayanami doesn’t seem to like to fight, but Enterprise too. I guess being reminded of the dark past and seeing Ayanami take the hit being under the Siren’s influence somehow changed her mind. Of course, Belfast overheard the whole thing. Is this a sign that Enterprise might be changing for the better? Maybe.
In the end, Ayanami went to the same spot where she found Uniforn’s live stuff animal. Javelin and her friends came and introduced themselves. With that, Ayanmi finally introduce herself. I guess this is finally mission accomplished. A simple rescue was enough for Laffey and Javelin to achieve their goal of becoming friends. Of course, Ayanami sees the light that her fellow boat girls regardless of allegiance are pretty much the same.
This episode is really the icing on the cake. I really liked how not only Ayanami, but also Enterprise feel when both are forced to fight in a war that felt forced by an enemy that WANTED to weaken them to take over. Still I really hope that Z23 eventually becomes friends with the other destroyers.
It’s not too surprising since it’s boat girls are alike. Hopefully the other side will realize that the real enemy is the sirens and that the fighting between the alliances are just a distraction that they are taking advantage of.
Laffey was the MVP of the episode and it was confirmed she’s the yuri harem girl instead of Javelin. She has three cuties under her spell so that’s cool.
Ark Royal is a good boat.
Ayanami seems to have found some happiness while Enterprise is more lost than ever. Hopefully Belfast can help her.
Prinz Eugen being Prinz Eugen was wonderful.
Yes, it’s quite amazing in that regard. Javelin probably needs to step her game up.
