As the competition continues, a new mage appears. Not only that, a green beam suddenly tries to attack everyone.
From last time, a new mage appears, which interrupted Anna attempt to defeat Fukami. Yes, the silver-haired girl, Kuon who seems interested in Kibou from last time becomes a mage. Nene finally unleashes her magic and tries to attack everyone. While everyone mostly avoided her attacks or shield it, she got better. Meanwhile, Anna unleashes her anger on Mangetsu until Nene launched her attack again.
Eventually, Kuon finds her and tries to take her out. Nene successfully escapes as Suishou attacks Kuon. However, before Fukami and Mangetsu can attack the source of the beams, the competition ends in a stalemate. What is interesting is that when Mangetsu wakes up, she saw Fukami crying as she wants to forgive Anna. This makes me wonder what Fukami did that made Anna to become perpetually angry towards her. I guess we’ll find out eventually.
Aside from that, Nene and her sisters finally receive some character development. In a flashback, Nene and her older sisters draw something on their sidewalks. Her mother scolds them. Apparently, Nene messed around with a magic gem. Apparently, the gem has magic techniques to control monsters, which will eventually drag the user into darkness and devour their souls.
Later on, about when their mother left her daughters behind, Nene cried after finding out her mother is a witch. This is the reason why Nene is short and have a child-like appearance. Eventually, her mom gives the gem that Nene messed around with earlier. She eventually tells Nene that she needs to hide the fact she is a mage for her survival.
While we don’t know where her mother went, Nene eventually admits to Fukami and Mangetsu that she is a mage. I guess she kind of found out from overhearing Fukami’s conversation with Kuon and Mangetsu. Still, I find it funny how Fukami catches Nene on the act of possibly eavesdropping on them.
Still, it’s kind of interesting that Kuon is now curious towards Mangetsu mostly because she is a mage, but her ancestors are unknown. Kuon thinks that Mangetsu might be a new mage, but we don’t know for sure. This is probably why she wants to work with Fukami and Mangetsu to work on a strategy defeat Nene. I guess we’ll learn more about their plan next time.
I have a bad feeling something bad will happen to Nene-Nee next week. Hope I’m wrong.
Won’t be surprised since Kuon is probably trying to team up with Mangetsu and Fukami to take Nene out. Still, I wonder how it plays out next time.
You know what I think? I think Mangetsu, Fukami, and Kuon are destined to team up. Well, Kuon said her family and hers used to worked together. But since Mangetsu doesn’t know what descendant she came from, she’ll probably eventually know.
I wonder too given Kuon’s becoming curious about Mangetsu and how she received her powers. We’ll probably learn more about that as the show goes on.
