After Mangetsu surprisingly defeats Rosa in a battle, she still doesn’t know whether or not to continue. Meanwhile, I am curious about what happened to Rosa.
From last time, Rosa got a bit too confident. While Mangetsu didn’t know how to control her ARMANOX, she defeats Rosa. As we saw in the first half, she is still alive, but utterly humiliated. Anna basically kicked her off the team. With Rosa’s magical powers taken away, there is no way for her to participate in the GRANBELM. Either way, Anna seems super annoyed that she couldn’t defeat Fukami from last time.
Meanwhile, it seems that Mangetsu’s little sister, Kibou is upset that her older sister gone missing. Thankfully, things are sorted out thanks to Mangetsu reappearing and Fukami explaining to them what happened. Somehow, she used some sort of magic to make what happened disappear.
Throughout the episode, Fukami tries to convince Mangetsu to give up on the competition. First, she tries to use her powers that will cause Mangetsu to forget about mages. She didn’t try once, but twice. Sadly, both attempts failed. She even thought about tossing Mangetsu’s magic gem as well, but Mangetsu decides to keep it.
Of course, this doesn’t stop there. Fukami transferred to the same school Mangetsu attends. From there, she sees other students take advantage of Mangetsu. Somehow, Mangetsu doesn’t mind because she feels that her presence is meaningless. It’s obvious that she doesn’t have much confidence in herself since she poor at sports.
Still, it’s clear that Fukami is trying to stop Mangetsu from participating. Maybe because she cares about her safety since Mangetsu is not a mage family decendent? Still, how Fukami is acting is becoming somewhat like Akemi Homura. After all, Homura tried to stop Madoka from becoming a magical girl, but ultimately fails.
Mangetsu in a way has a lot of similarities to Madoka on the surface. Both suffer from a lack of confidence while having hidden potential. Sure, Fukami shows off a skill of white lilies fully blooming. Mangetsu on the other hand not only made the flowers in the center of the school bloom, she created a garden out of nowhere. The only difference is that Mangetsu already made her mind up instead of being indecisive for several episodes. The thing is, what lies ahead regarding GRANBELM? Will Mangetsu and Fukami pairing become a reality? Only time can tell as Anna appears out of nowhere. Maybe it’s because she possibly wants to take Mangetsu after seeing how she defeated Rosa.
