Now that Bocchi’s first year comes to an end, how does it play out?
Surprisingly, Bocchi finally received her new smartphone a bit early. I guess begging for one last episode helped her get one earlier. I find it funny how Bocchi asks “Siri” to become her friend. Of course, it says yes and the response is exactly the same if you said it in real life.
Still, Bocchi manages to faint after asking her phone to become her friend. Aside from that, Nako’s remarks when she says that you can use money to buy friendship with machines was hilarious. Now, let’s go buy a $1000 iPhone and ask it to be your friend. You would look like a weirdo.
It’s funny how she recorded a video of Nako and took pictures of Aru and Sotoka. Aru thought that Bocchi would record her instead, but Bocchi tricks her. Still, I find it funny how Nako does payback by tricking Bocchi into thinking she Is having her pictures taken. In reality, Nako instead recorded her on video.
On the other hand, Bocchi sees the other side of Kako. She is cheery and willing to loan a movie out to Bocchi. The funny thing is that Kako believes that this is an illness. The funny thing is that when Bocchi and her friends come to her house, they hid outside. Kako drops off a movie case, but she forgot to put the disk in.
After graduation, when Bocchi asks her to walk home together, Kako flats out denies it. She also said that she didn’t intend to loan her the movie. Still, it’s quite obvious that she wanted to, but she is embarrassed like any tsundere would. But I guess she can’t admit that she wanted to become friends with Bocchi. It will happen someday, when she fully defrosts.
Aside from that, there are a lot of funny moments. During graduation day, first years apparently pin a corsage on the graduating class. While Bocchi practice on Nako is creepy, she kind of feels sad since it looks like Nako is graduating.
When it comes to actually doing it, Bocchi froze up a bit. Nakanai Karane, which Bocchi puts on the corsage on for said that Bocchi should look forward to the 2nd year since there will be a lot of fun. This of course resonated with Bocchi as she starts her 2nd year. Of course, some things didn’t change as their homeroom teacher is the same. The only thing that changed is of course where their class is. As expected, Bocchi botches up her introductions and verbal vomits again.
Final Thoughts
Despite the season being barren with slice of life comedies with a female cast, Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsui s an enjoyable show. The characters overall have enjoyable personalities and it’s nice how Bocchi progressed. Sure, she thought she never make any friends. However, she made six (seven if Kako admits that she wants to be friends with her).
Still, one has to recognize Bocchi’s efforts. After all, it’s not easy for her to get this far. The only problem is that if she only made 6. At her rate, she would fall short by 11. Still, it would be nice to see a sequel happen so viewers can find out if she actually achieves that goal or not.
Bocchi is precious, Nako is her #1 in my eyes though I know several who see her as Aru’s soul mate. Aru is delightful and Sotoka is a future Hokage. The sensei is cute and sexy, Kako is a cute try hard tsundere and Rich Girl is delightfully rich.
Kai is LUCKY to have someone as devoted to her as Bocchi to the point of being undeserving.
Yes, she is definitely precious and it’s not too surprising since Nako is the first friend she made at the school. Still, I enjoyed the characters overall, except for Kai who abandoned Bocchi. It makes me wonder if Bocchi really needs her after all the friends she made.
They will most likely reunirte at the end of the story.
I won’t be surprised after all since Bocchi won’t give up on her, even if Kai is pretty cruel.
