Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu – Episode 4 – Sotoka’s Quest To Become a Ninja

April 26, 2019 by Chikorita157 4 Comments
Bocchi runs into one of her classmates who is obsessed with ninjas.

Now that Bocchi became closer with Aru and Nako, it’s time to befriend another girl. This time, it’s a foreign girl.

Now that Bocchi took the step of having Aru and Nako visit her, there is another girl she tries to befriend. Before that happened, she tried to give two ladies a morning greeting while blending in with the pedestrians to cross the street.

It’s obvious that Bocchi wants to avoid interacting with other people. Sadly, she ends up being too stealthily, causing a misunderstanding with a foreign looking girl. Her name is Sotoka Rakita. She does somewhat remind me of Hana N. Fountainstand from Hanayamata with the very similar hair style and obsession for some part of Japanese culture.

While these girls look like Aru and Nako, they are not.
Bocchi has to make sure Nako is actually Nako. Still, it’s funny how she does the Aru headbutt to Nako.

For Sotoka, she came to Japan to become a ninja. Given that Bocchi tries to avoid interacting with people, Sotoka thinks that Bocchi is a ninja. I find it funny how Bocchi runs away and sees someone who looks like Nako and then mistaken the person. She had to hit her head behind the real Nako’s back like how Aru does to make sure it’s her. Either way, this situation seems traumatic to Bocchi.

Sotoka sulking that Bocchi isn’t a ninja.
Sotoka has a paper star thrown at her.

Knowing that Sotoka is rather lonely given that she is a foreigner, Bocchi wants to befriend her. To her dismay, Sotoka insists of having an apprentice/master relationship after opening up the origami ninja star. Yes, Bocchi is in despair, until she realizes that she can simply finish Sotoka’s apprenticeship and then ask her to be her friend. That kind of works, but Sotoka saw through it expecting more.

It seems that Sotoka is happy to be Bocchi’s apprentice that she holds her up.
Besides coming Bocchi’s friend, Sotoka carries her to the nurse’s office.

Eventually, Bocchi scraped her leg and Sotoka decides to take her to the nurse’s office. The funny thing is Bocchi did a similar kind of training with her former childhood friend, Kai. Thankfully, Sotoka finally decides to become friends with Bocchi while holding her up. With that, this only leaves 25 people Bocchi needs to make friends with. At least she is making good progress.

Man, Sotoka is surely strong. She can lifted up Bocchi like she have no weight! I like that sorts of aspect because it gave off a certain charm. Also reminded me of Kasumi from She Gets Girls Everyday where there’s a scene of her carrying a full fledged adult without much predicament and put her into bed. Also, that little headbutt attack is just so funny everytime.

Yes, it’s quite amazing how she can carry Bocchi like it’s nothing. But yes, Aru’s headbutt attack never gets tiring and it seems that Bocchi learned that from her.

Bocchi having superhuman speed and ninja skills was a welcome surprise.

Sotoka is a cool addition to her growing harem.

I guess Bocchi’s ability to avoid people makes it seem as such. Still, it’s nice to have Sotoka become her friend regardless.
