Endro! – Episode 10 – A Snowy Dream That Becomes a Nightmare

March 16, 2019 by Chikorita157 1 Comment
As expected, Yulia and her friends came unprepared for a blizzard.

Yulia and her friends are doing a quest to pick up some herbs in the mountain. Of course, they get caught in a snow storm and hilarity ensues.

I have to admit that this episode reminds me of that filler episode of Pokémon (a special episode between Episodes 38 and 39) where Satoshi and his Pokémon end up taking shelter in a cave during a snowstorm. It’s the same idea with this episode as Yulia and her friends find themselves trapped in a blizzard. They set up a tent as a temporary shelter until the storm passes by.

As expected, Mei not only wants to collect all the Cartado cards, she wants to rule them.

The only thing is, unlike Satoshi, none of the girls have a heat source. In other words, they have to stay awake. This perplexes me why Mei doesn’t have a Cartado card that generate heat. After all, they should have known that mountain area will have snow. Either way, it’s funny how the girls keep themselves awake by talking about their dreams.

If you recall from las time, Mei achieved her dream of attending the Cartado festival from last time. Of course, she has another. She wants to collect all the Cartado cards and then become the Cartado ruler. If only she accepted Rona’s offer from several episodes ago, she could have most of her collection completed. As for Fai, she wants to eat a 7-colored fish, a gold apple, and a boar that 1,000 people can’t finish eating. Of course, Seria won’t reveal her dream. It’s too embarrassing for her to share.

Seria dreams of having a body like this.

The funny thing is that the girls actually started dreaming those dreams because of a monster and a cute one as well. Not so surprisingly, Seria was the first one to wake up since she knew that her dream will never become true. Even if Kyubey shows up to grant her that wish1, she would probably regret it shortly afterwards since she has to fight witches. Either way, she finds out that there is a monster on top of Mei’s, Yulia’s and Fai’s head that disappeared into their dreams. She desperately tries to wake them up.

Seria trying to wake her friends up.

Seria looks up what the monster is. It’s a Carta eater, a cute jellyfish-like monster. While the deep sleep part is obvious, there is another side effect that disturbs Seria, which causes her to intervene. Yes, she uses the Dream Dive Cartado to ruin Fai’s, Mei’s and Yulia’s dream to save them.

As expected, Yulia still wants to defeat the demon lord.
Fai dreams of eating a big feast.
Mei’s dream is the strangest. It has her marrying a Cartado card.
Seria, the down to earth girl of the group destroys Fai’s, Mei’s and Yulia’s hopes and dreams.

I find it funny how Fai, Mei and Yulia combined their dreams to fend off Seria, but all the girls ended up eating the fused Cartado of all three dreams. I have to admit that this is a clever way to reveal what the Carta eater monster does. It apparently sneaks up unsuspected adventurers, put them to a deep sleep, and eat up all the Cartado cards he or she has. Thankfully, the monster only several of them partially, which causes Mei to become upset. Seria saved her friends before the Carta eater obliterates Mei’s entire Cartado collection. I guess Mei will fear the Carta eater when she goes on another quest with her friends. Hopefully the girls learn the lesson not to fall asleep during a big snowstorm while being outside.

As expected, the Carta eater actually eats Cartado cards, which Mei fears.
While this creature is cute, it’s a mortal enemy to Cartado enthusiasts. Also, it eats dreams.

Aside from that, there are some hints that Yulia remembered during her first battle against the Demon Lord. She just doesn’t know if it really happened or not. I guess Mao is not the only one who remembered that terrifying experience. Either way, as the next episode’s title suggests, I have a feeling that Yulia and her friends will find out Mao’s true identity. This makes me wonder who will spill the beans? Maybe Rona since she already knows Mao’s secret. We’ll find out soon enough along with Mao’s ultimate fate.
