At last, Yulia and her friends finally get to do quests. This makes me wonder which quests they will do.
Now that Yulia and her friends figured out the leader situation, it’s time for them to do a practical quest. Yes, these are the types of quests that you might find in a Japanese role-playing game. Things such as defeating a bunch of monsters, finding an item, and so on. It seems that Seria wants to soothe a horned gorilla, Fai just wants to find food and Mei, finding rare Cartado cards. As expected, Yulia wants to go and slay a dragon. I think it’s too early for her to do since her party members are at a low level.
When it comes to the day of receiving their first quest, well things don’t go quite as planned. I find it funny how other parties got actual quests while Yulia’s party receive a quest that seems too ordinary. Yes, it involves finding a missing cat. To me, I wonder if Mao is intentionally doing this so that Yulia’s party will hardly get any experience. Or maybe it’s good or bad luck? I think it’s more of the latter since the next day, Yulia receives 5 quests, all in which involve find a cat. Yulia must have really bad or good luck to receive the same quest five times in a row! Even so, I have a feeling that all these cat finding quests are giving them a false sense that they are becoming professional cat finders.
The next day, Yulia and her friends thought they will receive yet another cat finding quest. Instead, they finally get an item fetching quest. At last, they are happy that they don’t have to do yet another cat finding quest. The funny thing is that instead of doing the item fetch quest, they become sidetracked when they noticed a girl crying. Apparently, she lost her cat. In other words, they changed their focus on finding that cat. Then again, in a role-playing game, you don’t have to do the quest on the same day you receive it as they give you some time to complete it. As long they finish it by the deadline, they will still make it.
I like how the search to find the little girl’s cat feel more like an adventure instead of having to search around town. They eventually encounter a weak spider-like monster and received another medicinal herb drop.
With night falling, they decide to camp for the night. I find it funny how Seria, who is the most diligent member of the group fail to pack any food. Instead, she accidentally brought a bow that she can’t use. I find it hilarious how Fai starts acting strange and Seria begs Mei to use the Imperial Feast Cartado card. Of course, Mei refuses since it’s a very rare card that she won’t give up for any reason.
In the end, Fai ends up biting on Seria’s left ear as Yulia goes back to town to get food. Still, I find it funny how Fai decides to bite Seria’s ears instead of the other girls. It’s obvious that even in hunger mode, Fai has a thing for Seria as seen in the first episode. Then again, Seria might have a harem of her own as her friends seems to love her after Yulia said it after Seria praised her.
When they got to the tower, Yulia managed to press something on the wall, which causes her to fall through. The funny thing is that it’s the path that leads them to the top without any traps. In other words, her crazy luck allowed her party to face the boss without trouble. The boss is the same type of monster Yulia faced before, except stronger.
Yes, it’s another cliché in role-playing games that the monster’s color determines the strength. If they faced a rainbow spider monster, this makes me wonder if it would wipe out the whole party. Still, it seems that Fai learned this the hard way by thinking the boss battle will be easy because Yulia defeated a weaker version of it.
In the end, they managed to defeat the boss and save the cat. Seria used a bow to bring the cat down, which is tied up in spider web. Still, it’s interesting that she needed to wear glasses so she can shoot a bow and arrow accurately. It must be the design of the glasses. Believe it or not, it’s one of those glasses that a stereotypical bookworm would wear. Still, I wonder if contact lenses actually exist in their world so that she doesn’t have to wear glasses.
At the end of the day, the girls managed to find the cat a little girl was looking for. I find it hilarious how Yulia and her friends suddenly realized that they never did the original quest they were originally assigned. Hopefully, they won’t get into trouble for finishing it late. Aside from that, from the look of next episode’s title, it will be a beach episode. It should be fun.
Seira gained major brownie points this episode.
I do so enjoy the JRPG jokes. Nice color swap boss joke there.
Fingers crossed the two dark skinned beauties will be present in the next episode for obvious reasons.
Yes indeed and it doesn’t come at a surprise with Yulia, Mei and Fai confessing love for her… and of course Fai’s eat biting. But yes, the Japanese RPG references are funny.
Hopefully so, and the funny thing is that Mao’s friend’s name is apparently Lush.
