At last, the big day is finally here. However, Kohane seems nervous for some reason.
The day of the big cheer tournament finally arrives. Somehow, Kohane becomes suddenly nervous. It’s understandable since Kohane wants to show Hizume’s former squad that Hizume is doing fine. This means that Kohane and her fellow members can’t mess up.
At last, Kohane and her friends met Hizume’s former squad. It seems that they are doing okay. However, it seems that Hizume feels uneasy when she confronts her former squad leader. She thought that her pursuit to perfection drived them away.
However, it’s quite the opposite when Hizume and Kana left. It seems that the members realized that Hizume is just raising the standard for them and holding them up. Sure, Hizume felt that she is only thinking about herself, but her former cheerleading captain said it’s not the case now. After all, Hizume now has her new friends.
After meeting Hizume’s former squad, Kohane starts showing her nervousness. Not only she messes up during rehearsals, she couldn’t smile without it looking forced. I have to admit that Kohane looks silly with her forced smile during the photo take.
Her nervousness becomes obvious when they performed. Kohane’s friends started to lose confidence because Kohane is not smiling. When they did the double thigh base stunt, Kohane felt like she was going to fall. Thankfully, her team members are there to hold her up. Hizume reminds Kohane that her teammates along with the audience are there to support her. After Kohane realizes this, she started smiling as they continued with their performance.
While I don’t expect them to place since they are starting out, at least Hizume’s former squad is happy that Hizume is doing well. Of course, Kohane and her friends had a lot of fun cheering, which matters the most. They will eventually get better, especially with Hizume at the helm. With that, they celebrated their first cheer at a tournament at a family restaurant while Inukai cries as her wallet drains.
Final Impressions
Like with other Manga Time Kirara shows, Anima Yell!is a very fun watch. The cheer performances were nice to look at along with Hizume’s training. Of course, the characters are enjoyable, especially Kotetsu and possibly Uki.
As you would expect, the yuri in this show is pretty strong, mostly thanks to Kon outright admitting that she has a crush on another girl. Given that Uki and Kana also have a strong attraction to Kohane and Hizume respectively, it doesn’t come at a surprise either. Especially Kana, who can’t hold back her attraction to Hizume that her whole face turns red. As always, the animation is great as seen with Uzamaid, which Doga Kobo also animated.
One of the best Girls Club shows of 2018, a year that was chock full of great ones.
All five leads are Best Girl worthy. Mine is Arima for her adorable droopiness.
Hopefully Uki and Kana will make their dreams come true like Kon-chan did.
We need a 2nd season so they can introduce Kon-chan’s girlfriend.
Yes, I agree since there are a lot of fun moments. It’s quite obvious that Hizume don’t want to be lonely. Otherwise, hopefully Uki’s and Kana’s dream of getting together with their crushes will become true, someday.
