Now that Haruka and Kanata heads into the second set against Emily and Claire, will they make it?
Last time, I predicted that maybe Haruka and Kanata will have a comeback. While the second set is mostly a dead heat with Haruka and Kanata along with Claire and Emily going neck to neck after each point. Haruka and Kanata manages to pull through scoring three points to win the second set towards the end.
As for the third set, it’s definitely more intense. It’s quite surprising how Haruka manages to master the topspin serve that the Aragaki twins used. It definitely caught Claire and Emily off guard three times. Haruka also combines the topspin with a spike as well. Of course, this strategy won’t work forever. Towards the end of the match, while Claire and Emily reached beyond their limits, Haruka started messing up. This leaves Claire and Emily close to match point.
Still, it’s nice that Kanata who still have a lot of endurance to pull through and achieve a tie. It seems that she still has it in her and she can possibly pull a win. Given that either pairing needs to score at least two points in a row to win, it can become a drawn-out match. With Emily and Claire almost worn out, maybe Kanata can use this to her advantage. We have to wait and see next time.
Aside from the actual match, we saw a flashback after Kanata and Narumi became Claire and Emily’s rival. During the middle school regional finals, it seems that Claire wasn’t satisfied that Kanata didn’t play like she did when she defeated her the first time. When Claire saw Kanata get back in the game in a match with Haruka against Narumi and Ayasa, she is happy that Kanata is back to her old self. Thankfully, Kanata is playing to her fullest this time. Hopefully, we should see a nice conclusion next time and see who wins in the finale. ¶
