Now that spring is finally winding down, it’s time to share what I plan to watch during the summer.
Harukana Receive
Air date: July 6, 2018
Studio: C2C
As expected, this is another Manga Time Kirara adaptation, but this time it focuses on all-girls beach volleyball. Haruka, who have a complex about being very tall. She pairs up with Kana, who wants to give up because she believes that she is too short but also has experience. As expected, this should be a fun series given that each episode is a beach episode with a focus on sports.
Ongaku Shoujo
Air Date: July 6, 2018
Studio: Studio Deen
It’s yet another idol series, which received an original video animation a few years back. This time, it focuses on a group of 11 girls of a obscure and low-selling idol group. From the looks of it, it will be similar to the likes of Idolmaster and Wake Up Girls since there is a Producer who wants another member. Yes, there will be a certain someone who will complain about male self-insert characters going to ruin the yuri potential. To me, I won’t let that ruin my enjoyment.
Might be watching, but not covering
Free!: Dive to the Future – I didn’t realize there is a third season of Free. This time, it focuses on the life of Haruka and his friends after they graduated high school. It should be interesting to see how their future plans pan out.
Sunoharasou no Kanrin-san – Wait, I thought you stopped covering shows with male main characters? For the most part, yes but I watch them once in a while. This focuses on a boy named Shiina Aki. Everyone treats him like a girl due to his feminine looks. He wants to change himself and decide to move to Tokyo. A female caretaker takes him in and there are three other girls living there as well. To me, it’s obvious where this is going as it will most definitely have the opposite effect.
Site Updates
From the past month, I am happy to report that number of comments and traffic is going in the right direction. However, for this month, it’s still lacking. With that, likes will still be disabled for one more season. If I see a consistent trend, I will eventually re-enable them.
As always, I have to admit that I have fallen behind with what I plan to do. Over the past three months, I only reviewed three volumes of Manga and haven’t yet completed any video games. Yes, the whole drama over MyAnimeList disabling third-party applications took most of my time as I continue to look for work. I am still hopeful that this will work itself out by the end of the year since this limit what direction I want to take for this blog. For starters, I decided to cover only two shows so I can at least start to catch up on my growing back log.
Also, there are a few people asking to do a guest post. I will accept these proposals, but there is a narrow type of content I will accept. For guest posts, I typically want editorials that are related to the type of shows and analyses I do. This means no reviews of any type whatsoever. If you are interested, please send a direct message to my Twitter with a draft and we will work something out.
With that, what shows are you planning to watch this summer?
I’m watching and covering both Harukana and Ongaku so we’ll be discussing it weekly.
Hope your site continues to improve and I can relaste to your backlog troubles.
Hopefully these shows will bring a lot of fun moments when they start airing.
Hopefully, I will start to go through my backlog. The only problem is that I need to stop adding to it.
