It has been a decade in a making, but it’s time to take that nostalgia trip.
At last, Sakura is now back and cuter than ever. While Syaoran is away in Hong Kong to take care of business, Sakura starts her first day in middle school. She is in the same class with her friend, Tomoyo and Chiharu. It’s obvious that Tomoyo is disappointed that she can’t dress Sakura in cute outfits since Sakura haven’t been hunting down cards.
On the way home, Sakura finally reunites with Syaoran. It seems that he finally finished his business in Hong Kong and will start attending the same school the next day. While it’s nice to see Sakura become happy that Syaoran is back, Tomoyo recorded Sakura’s reactions. Yep, she hasn’t change since the good old days. He also traded his stuff bear with Sakura.
Things take a strange turn when Sakura goes to bed. In her dream, she sees a strange being and all the cards were clear. She woke up to look at her cards in her book. Every single one turned clear. The next night, she sees the same figure, but this time, the clear cards shatters and a key appears. When she wakes up this time, she possesses the said key.
It’s obvious what this means, right? As expected, she now has to capture all the clear cards. Of course, Tomoyo is excited since she can dress Sakura in cute outfits again. She will indeed have a field day in doing so. Either way, Sakura manages to capture the first clear card, Gale. It didn’t take too much effort either.
Aside from that, while I probably don’t remember much about the original series and need to re-watch it someday, it’s definitely a good episode. There is definitely brought a lot of nostalgia, even for the first episode. But seeing the series finally in its high-definition glory is nice. As you would expect, Sakura and Tomoyo are cute as always.
“The Sakura you know and love is back.”
