Hana finally starts her first day in high school. However, she is afraid that she won’t be able to make friends due to her starting school one year late.
At last, Hana starts her first day of school. I have to admit that Hana’s cousin, Kyouzuka Shion is very attractive. She is apparently the landlord of the apartment complex and looking after Hana. It’s funny how Shion decides to take a picture of her wearing a school uniform.
After the opening ceremony, Hana worries that nobody will greet her since she doesn’t have any friends. On the other hand, three other girls eventually introduces themselves who will become friends with Hana. They are Tokura Eiko, Sengoku Kamuri, and Momochi Tamate.
While it’s obvious what kind of character Eiko and Tamate is, what intrigues me is Kamuri. She hasn’t grown since elementary school. Not only that, she has the same voice as Kanna Kamui, Naganawa Maria. She also voices Lydie in Atelier Lydie and Suelle. Either way, Kamuri like Kanna is very adorable. Maybe, Eiko and Kamuri will make a nice couple.
As always, Tamate is the cheerful girl in the group. Apparently, she is excited about her first day of school. I find it funny how she wants to be called Tama while Eriko and Kamuri insists calling her Tamate. It’s interesting how Tamate goes about explaining about the orgins of her name. It comes from the word tamatebako (玉手箱、たまてばこ) which means casket, which comes from a Japanese fairy tale, Urashimna Taro. If one opens the tamatebako, it will turn the person old. This can explain why Tamate doesn’t like the meaning about her name. Still, it’s funny how Kamuri compares Tamate’s name to meatballs.
Aside from the girls’ introductions, Hana reveals that her birthday is on the first day of school. Of course, she becomes embarrassed. Still, it’s nice to see her new friends give her a present, even if it comes from someone who is handing it out. Even Shion gives the same safety charm, which is hilarious.
Either way it seems that Hana made new friends as she talked to them and saw cherry blossom trees. It’s understandable that Hana is afraid of being judged for being held back a year. Despite this, she made friends despite forgetting it the next day. Either way, I can’t wait to see more fun moments with her friends.
While some couldn’t get into the first episode for whatever reason I enjoyed it. It introduced everyone nicely and made sure viewers acknowledged the indisputable fact that Cousin Shion is amazing.
It’s definitely not for everyone, but I have to admit that this show is fun. Of course, Shion is impressive and there is no surprise.
Ah well. Their loss.
