Aihara Yuzu transfers into a new school. However, when she arrives, it’s nothing what she expected.
Since Yuzu’s mother remarried with another man, she decided to move. With that, Yuzu have high hopes of finding someone special. From how she dresses up on her first day with makeup and fake nails, it’s obvious that she is trying to win over a guy on the first day of school. The problem is, she is attending an all-girls school, which makes it difficult if not impossible to find a guy.
After Yuzu did her makeup and prepared for her first day of school, she heads to school. It’s funny how the student council representatives catch her breaking the rules. Apparently, how Yuzu dress and her appearance breaks the rules. I understand the whole banning of cell phones since most schools find them distracting. Her appearance shouldn’t really be a problem. Of course, Yuzu makes a big fuss about not knowing about the rules.
Eventually, it got the student council president’s attention, Aihara Mei. Mei suddenly touches Yuzu intimately before confiscating her smart phone. She tells her to follow the rules. Of course, Mei’s intimate touching of Yuzu foreshadows what to come towards the end of the episode.
After Mei took Yuzu’s phone away, Yuzu proceeds to wash her makeup off. This is when she meets a handsome guy named Amamiya who is a teacher. The funny thing is that Mei most likely have a planned arranged marriage with him. It’s evident when Yuzu saw them kissing after she got her phone back. This is surprising given the kind of person Mei is.
Things got funnier when Yuzu returns home. Apparently, her mother, Ume married the father who owns the academy. Apparently, he is traveling and won’t come back for some time. This can explain why Mei shows up at the apartment. Mei is now Yuzu’s new little sister. Still, I find it amusing how Mei completely ignores Yuzu most of the time while Yuzu makes a big fuss over her.
Later, things take a surprisingly romantic turn. While Yuzu went into the bedroom, Mei was there. She tries to talk to her, but Mei keeps ignoring her. It only took Yuzu mentioning Mei’s kissing with Amamiya to make her notice.
With that, Mei proceeds to kiss Yuzu. Sure, Yuzu never expected that Mei will steal her first kiss. It’s bound to happen given how Mei confiscated her phone. Not only that, it may explain her potential disdain for her arranged marriage.
Aside from that, the first episode definitely exceeds expectations. Sure, the whole opposites attract thing is true given that Yuzu is a gyaru girl and Mei being the serious girl who follows traditions. Still, it’s nice to see Yuzu find one friend. Yes, it’s Taniguchi Harumi who is secretly a gyaru and knows a lot about the school. She also has a smart phone that she hides in her cleavage. It’s obvious that Yuzu will become best friends with her.
Either way, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Harumin is love. Harumin is justice. She, along with the sexy yuri goodness will help make the anime enjoyable. I’ll give the anime some more credit for making the story easier to watch animated than in manga form. Let’s see if it can keep it up.
Harumi in no doubt will become Yuzu’s best friend given that she knows a lot about the school. Still, it’s surprising how some of the scenes are exactly like the manga as seen on one of the tweets comparing the kissing scene with Mei and Yuzu.
If the show keeps up this pace and the extra additions continue being delightful I’m sure fans will be most pleased.
