Wow, 2017 have went by so quickly, so it’s time to reflect on what happened during the year.
I guess that 2017 is an okay year. Sure, the job search has been dragging a lot longer than expected and it’s not easy emotionally. The job search has been the thorn by my side. It’s taking longer since I’m only looking for civil service jobs and I have no interest in private sector jobs. In the meantime, I have been working on my business, which does not bring in hardly any money. Still, it’s enough to break even with the business expenses.
Thankfully, with support of my family and friends, things are going on fine. I am not going to mention you know who, but blogging wise, it’s definitely an improvement. It seems that the traffic to my blog is improving. breaking out from the lows in 2016. Still, I would like to see more comments on my posts since it’s still not what I expect with an 18-comment deficit from last year
On the flip side, I have to admit that 2017 is a good year for anime as there are many enjoyable shows. There are some that I didn’t get to watch. I will eventually get to them someday.
Going into 2018, I hope things improve with finally getting a job. Aside from my that, I hope to improve things on my blog given that it’s going to be 9 years old in about two more months. Hopefully, 2018 will be a better year and hopefully my job woes will sort itself out.
As always, I wish everyone a Happy New Years. Of course, continuing to support us by commenting on my existing posts that needs them, disabling ad block or donating. I’ll see everyone in 2018.
Hm, how much traffic does your blog get per month? Does the advertising really help all that much…? ^^;;
In 2017, the average page views is 8132. I use Wordads run by Automatic (the guys who run WordPress.com) and only works on WordPress blogs. I earned about $19.19 in 2017 and it’s only available for blogs that have thousands of pageviews. It’s definitely better than what I was earning with Google Adssense, which I only earned $32 on the course of 5 years. It’s mainly there to offset some of the hosting costs. Of course, I would not do it as a full time job since it’s a hobby compared to my software development activities, which makes a bit more money.
2017 was rough as far as the real world goes but anime, games and other media were plentiful.
Hope 2018 will treat you better than 2017 did. May the Perfect One guide you to victory.
I hope so. So far given what happen so far, I guess there should be hope in the new year.
