While Aqours didn’t qualify for nationals from last time, they managed to attract 10 perspective students. Sadly, Mari have bad news to reveal to everyone.
From last time, it seems that Aqours didn’t quite make it to nationals. However, they got some good news. They managed to attract 10 students. With the start of the second semester and another shot at winning Love Live, things are looking up for Aqours and the school. You even found a place where the girls can practice as well. With the open house coming up soon, the girls are confident they can save the school. Of course, Mari receives bad news, but more on that later.
Aside from that, Chika spends time with Riko after everyone else went home. She shares her experiences on how she learned how to shine. Of course, she jumps off the pier and Riko had to prevent her from falling into the ocean. It’s obvious why Chika wanted to jump. She wanted to have a moment to shine. Either way, it’s a nice moment between the two.
Later, Mari gets into a disagreement with her father. While she tries to hide the bad news from Kanan, it’s obvious that she can’t hide it any longer. Besides, Dia already knows the bad news already. Apparently, Mari’s father already decided to go along with his plan to merge the two schools. In other words, he directs his daughter to cancel the open house. It seems that no matter what the girls do, they can’t save the school.
Of course, while the girls are upset by the news, Chika is distraught. She even wanted to go to America just to convince Mari’s father. Even if she did it, he will probably not change his mind. Either way, Chika feels lost, even after seeing the origami that everyone made to cheer Aqours on. Is it over for the girls? Is Chika’s efforts to form Aqours to save the school is a lost cause?
While Chika can’t change what will happen to the school, in the end, she decides to continue on. She hopes that there is some miracle that can turn things around. All her friends agree after hearing her call. Even if it seems impossible, why give up because of one set back. Like with anything in life, one has to get back on the horse and keep trying. Since nobody knows what happen in the future, things might just work out in the end.
Aside from the drama, there is one funny moment in particular. It seems that Yoshiko wants to hide her alternate persona from her mother. It’s funny how her mother tries to go into her daughter’s room, but can’t get in. Apparently, she is a teacher, which can explain everything. Still, I find it interesting that Yoshiko’s mother hairstyle looks almost the same as her daughter’s.
The Perfect One returns in all her unrivaled glory and her friends were fantastic as well.
The Queen of the Netherworld being a teacher at Yohane’s school was a delightful surprise.
We also got some lovely KanaMari and ChikaRiko moments.
It nice to see the pairing moments… but aside from that, I think they can make it although the road is hard and they made it this far. Not so surprising since the odds the stacked against them.
