Yes, I know I haven’t written the spring preview yet, but that is coming. For now, let’s focus on the first show I plan on covering that involves a girl who is looking for a job. Not any job, she wants one in the city. Suddenly, she receives a call to do a certain gig that involves being a queen.
Our heroine, Koharu Yoshino during an interview recalls a fond memory of her childhood. Of course, this messes up her chances of getting a job, especially when she states her desire working in a city. It’s obvious that she has the mentality of a typical millennial who wants to live in a city and find living in rural areas boring.
Sadly, she is unlucky since the job market is highly competitive. She is almost out of money and she might have to move back home. This is something she does not want to do. It’s not surprising since finding that dream job is difficult. Believe me, I have been there.
Suddenly, she receives a call from a Momonga promotion agency to work on a promotional project as a queen. Thinking that this is just a one-time thing, Yoshino accepts it without knowing what she is getting herself into.
When she arrived, there are people who are there welcoming her with blank stares. It’s later revealed that there is a big mistake. Someone working at the agency wrote Yoshino’s name instead of the name of the person they intended. This made Mr. Kodota very angry.
Either way, Yoshino decides to do it anyway. After receiving a tour, they eventually do the ceremony to make Yoshino queen. Afterwards, Shinomiya Shiori drives her to the place Yoshino will stay. Of course, she runs into the manager who reveals the cold truth to Yoshino. The manager shows the article about the ceremony and it mentions something about being one year.
After reading the contract, Yoshino calls up the talent agency and she apparently signed a contract with it being one year without reading. Yep, it’s quite obvious that she got into something without reading the terms.
In other words, Yoshino tried to get on a train to go back home. Sadly, trains and bus services closed for the day. Is this a coincidence? Perhaps since the town doesn’t want their queen to suddenly quit or leave. Either way, I think they are up to something.
She eventually runs into a monster that came out of nowhere. Shiori then encounters the monster and instructs Yoshino to use the sword. However, Yoshino uses the bag and finds out that it’s Mr. Kodota. As expected, he got injured and have to the hospital. I have to admit that it was hilarious to see that Yoshino is not having it.
While Yoshino want to go back home, Shiori is glad that Yoshino came. After arriving at the dorm, Yoshino got locked out. Thus, she slept in the castle and finds out from a picture of herself as a child. In short, she changes her mind although she denies it. She can’t hide it since she is wearing the attire after all.
Overall, I have to admit it’s a decent start. Sure, people will say that this show feels similar to Hanasaku Iroha or Shirobako in a sense. Either way, it seems that fate has led her to this job.
