Now that we are in the new year, it’s time to take a look at some of the anime I plan to watch for the winter.
Rewrite Second Season
Studio: 8 bit
Air Date: January 14, 2017
Despite the first season having enjoyable moments, the Rewrite anime had a disappointing ending. Not only it’s depressing, the story felt rushed. Hopefully the sequel will be an improvement as it focuses on the happier endings.
Kobayashi-chan Chi no Maidragon
Studio: Kyoto Animation
Air Date: January 11, 2017
As expected, I tend to watch most adaptations from Kyoto Animation and this is no exception. From the look of the plot summary, an office lady, Kobayashi saves a female dragon. The female dragon named Tohru can transform into a cute girl with horns and a long tail. In other words, there is some two girl relationships potential as long Kyoto Animation doesn’t plan to alter that aspect. Judging from the ending from Hibike! Euphonium Second Season, maybe there is hope.
As for the third show, I still haven’t decided what to watch. I will figure it out once the winter anime starts airing
Site Updates
As mentioned in the previous post, I am announcing the relaunch of a Patreon. In the past, I have run ads to raise money to cover some of the hosting costs. Unfortunately, due to adblock being wide-spread, ads are not feasible. Of course, anime blogging allows me to share my passion for anime and keep my mind off the stressful aspects of life.
Given the events that happened late 2016 made me rethink everything. While things will improve as I might start working in a few months, it impacted future plans since I need a bigger emergency savings fund. This is why I decided to start a Patreon campaign to help me expand the content I cover on my blog and redesign the blog’s theme.
What is Patreon? Patreon allows people to support your favorite content creators by pledging a certain amount to support their content creation.
One of the goals I have for a while is attending an anime convention. This haven’t been possible for a long time since I simply don’t have the money due to life obligations. Since they are very expensive to attend and there aren’t any where I live, it’s not feasible. If I raised some money in addition to saving money, perhaps attending a convention can become a reality.
Another goal I have planned is redesigning the theme and creation of a blog mascot like what Kai have. Given that my blog performed horribly, I think it’s time for change, creating a new identity through a mascot, most likely a cute female character. I want to pay someone to commission art work for use in header images and the about page. The idea is to give a blog a fresh appearance in order to attract more readers.
If you enjoy the content on my blog, feel free to support me on Patreon. Note that content will still be freely available and I do not plan to put up a pay wall. Regardless, I am still figuring out what perks to add. To start, I plan on adding the names who support this blog through Patreon on the about page. There are currently two tiers, one that will grant access to a special form and add one’s name to the credits list. The second tier allows readers to ask questions to me and suggest new ideas for editorials. The answers to questions are available one weekly early before they become public. I expect to share the answers every month.
To start, the first stretch goal is $11 a month, which will cover all the basics. Beyond that goal, I will be able to start working on revamping the blog’s design and other projects to help revamp this blog. If you are interested, visit our Patreon page.
With that, what shows are you planning to watch this season? Feel free to share.
Nice. Looking forward to your mascot. Feel free to ask me if you need any recomnendations.
We’ll see once there are patrons in a few weeks… Hopefully things will improved that I will be able to do some of the things I want to do in the future.
