Now that 2017 is almost here, it’s time to reflect back on what happened in 2016.
As expected, 2016 is a god-awful year with one bad thing after another. First off, I am not happy by how the blog is going. Not only the traffic is not improving, I had a drop off in commenting activity. To make matters worse, I had a lot of bad things happened in real life. This ranged from my grandmother passing away, my car dying and having to quit my job for reasons I won’t share. Combine that with the world events and all the celebrity deaths, there is no wonder everyone wants 2016 gone.
That said, not everything in 2016 was bad. I finally got a Playstation 4 mostly to play Idolmaster Platinum Stars. I plan to get some upcoming games that will come out in the near future. Also, there is Pokémon Sun and Moon, which Is perhaps the best Pokémon game that I played thus far. Lastly, I upgraded my game capturing setup. Not only I can capture all the Vita games, but I have upgraded to a Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro. This is not surprising since the Playstation 4 only has HDMI. I will write a review on the new capture card in the future, so look forward to that.
So, what I look forward to 2017? To me, it will be a year of change since there is a possibility that I will moving to Maryland. I have done two job interviews this month with the third most likely coming up soon. In other words, I will most likely be working within a couple of months. Considering that I have a huge backlog of games, I want to avoid getting any more until I complete some more games. In other words, I probably won’t buy any more games beyond Blue Reflection. As always, I will continue improving my Japanese language skills.
Aside from the changes I announced earlier, I want to bring back the idea of having a Patreon. Given what happened, I would like to start one so I can keep creating content. As expected, it costs money to keep the blog running. In the past, I have run ads to generate revenue. The problem is that it pays hardly anything these days and too many people use ad block. Aside from keeping this site up, I am hoping to attend an anime convention. This is something I want to do for a while, but couldn’t for obvious reasons. I will share more details next month.
With that, I wish everyone a Happy New Years. I’ll see you in 2017. Hopefully it will be better year.
