Now that Kumiko now knows about Asuka’s intensions of aiming for Nationals, how will she convince her to come back?
It seems that the deadline is near. While Kumiko visiting Asuka is a good step, it seems that she needs to convince her since everyone wants her to stay. In other words, Kumiko is in a tough spot to set things right, but she doesn’t seem to know how.
Meanwhile, it Mamiko finally made up with Kumiko. I guess she finally made up her mind now after realizing she regretted quitting concert band. In other words, she is going to chase her dreams as Kumiko is doing with playing the Euphonium.
Given Mamiko’s decision, she is moving out. This causes Kumiko to cry on her way to school. It’s most likely because Mamiko sacrificed the thing she wanted to do even though she didn’t have to. To prevent history from repeating itself with Asuka, Kumiko needs to set things right. In other words, she knows how to confront Asuka to bring her back
While it’s obvious that Asuka wants to move on and have Natsuki take her spot, Kumiko doesn’t want that. I have to admit that her scene of her saying that Asuka is throwing away her dream for nothing was emotional. After all, Asuka is a senior and she will only get to play at nationals and have her father listen to her. Thankfully, Asuka changed her mind after patting her on the head.
In the end, it seems that Asuka made it on the national top 30 for the mock exam. It’s not surprising since she have good grades. This makes me wonder if her mom didn’t want Asuka to play at nationals since her ex-husband is one of the judges. Either way, it’s nice to see her back.
As for Reina, it seems that she is not happy that Kumiko is hiding something about Taki’s past. I have a feeling that Kumiko will have to reveal it before nationals before it affects her performance.
