I have to admit that I like magical girls. What if there is an app that can allow you to become one in real life? Would you do it?
From the looks of it, it seems that there is a new mobile game that is taking Japan by storm. Yep, it’s even surpassing Pokémon Go for god sake. Yep, it’s the Mahou Shoujo Raising Project. It is a free to play smartphone game where you get to become a magical girl to defeat monsters and receive or buy cards.
Apparently, Koyuki plays that said game. As expected, she loves magical girls. She thinks that magical girls should help people and fight for justice. This is not so surprising since she is a big fan of the genre since childhood. Not only that, her childhood friend, Souta seems to be a fan too, but a closeted one. He is afraid of being made fun of for liking magical girls. It’s very understandable considering that people can be judgmental sometimes.
From the looks of it, Koyumi becomes an actual magical girl. Yes, she transforms into her in-game character, Show White. I have to admit that she looks cute in her magical girl form. As expected, she uses her power for good to help people out. She upholds her ideals while earning candy.
Aside from receiving a special device to communicate with other magical girls in her area, she meets La Pucelle in person. Believe it or not, it’s happens to be her childhood friend, Souta. Apparently, he transforms into an actual girl when he becomes a magical girl. I have to admit that he looks attractive in his magical girl form. This shows that he has a lot of dedication towards magical girls. At least it’s nice to see him/her help Koyuki out while introducing her to other magical girls.
Aside from that, it seems that the magical girl mascot, Fav gives an ominous message to the girls. The amount magical girls will get halved in the future. Given what happened in the beginning, things are expected to become dark. How dark it might be, we just have to find out in the next few episodes.
I was initially not too keen on Souta being La Pucelle but there’s lots of potential to make him a very interesting character.
Other than that I’m looking forward to more from this one.
Yes, seeing Souta as a magical girl is surprising, but it will be interesting how he will develop.
Osanajimi shipping for the win! The show sold me on coupling Souta and Koyumi in a single episode.
Yep, and it will be interesting how Souta and Koyumi will develop in the next few episodes, given that he is helping her out.
