Now that Nene finished her spring semester, she has two months to kill before her next semester. She finds out that her best friend, Aoba is busy. From this, she comes up with a good idea.
Given that Aoba is busy trying to get her work done on time, Nene found a way to be with her. Yep, she signed up for a part-time job as a debugger at the same company her friend work for. From the looks of it, it seems that Nene haven’t worked before given her poor work ethics. Not only she was a bit late on her first day, she wonders off while on the clock and seen as slacking off. This understandably annoyed Umiko , but it’s not surprising given Nene’s personality. Thankfully, she improves after a while.
As for debugging, it’s something necessary when you develop something. Obviously, you won’t get it right the first time. This is why testing and debugging is a vital aspect of development to find these bugs so you can fix them.
For video game testing, you obviously need people to break the game so that all the game breaking bugs can get fixed. It’s not meant to be fun. After all, you don’t want to ship a buggy game and have customers complain. Not only you have to fix it, your reputation will become tarnished. This happens a bit too much in real life with companies releasing buggy games to get it to market quickly
Sure, Nene got bored having to play a certain part over and over, but thankfully she realizes how important it is. She eventually got into it that she points out inconsistencies and even a bug where Sophia doesn’t die. Sure, Aoba would be happy to see that, but sadly, that is not what the developers had in mind.
On the other hand, it seems that Nene played the good old stealing co-worker’s food cliché. Apparently, she thought that she could have anything in the fridge after Hajime took out a tray of deserts. Apparently, she thought the pudding was one of those without realizing it had Ko’s name written on it. A few moments later after Aoba and Rin came to her desk, Ko complains about her pudding being stolen by someone. After Rin sent an email to everyone asking the perpetrator turning themselves in without punishment, Nene becomes remorseful.
In the end, Nene confessed, but in private. In return, she bought another pudding and put an apology note about it. At least she did the right thing after making a mistake. It happens, but it shows that people should be careful not to take food that is not theirs from the office refrigerator. If someone get caught stealing food, he or she will get shamed by their coworkers. Still, it’s funny how Ko made a big deal about someone eating her 100 yen pudding.
While Nene had a few screw-ups, it was nice to see her improve. She worked so hard that Umiko complimented her on the bug report and the suggestions she made. Sure, Nene is childish at times, but it doesn’t mean that she is a bad worker. At least now the beta is out without any bug. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here until the release.
