It seems that Chika is in for a nasty surprise that will upset her.
As expected, it seems that Saint Snow’s performance blew Aquors away. Yep, they are definitely out of their league. Even so, it seems that Chika doesn’t look happy for some reason. It’s obvious that she is hiding something by trying to cheer everyone up. Sadly, Chika can’t simply run away from the harsh reality forever, especially when everyone feels down.
After receiving the results from an event organizer, it doesn’t look pretty. Not only Aquors ranked last place, they received absolutely no votes whatsoever. I felt that this was bound to happen since Chika wanted to create a school idol group like Muse. However, copying their strategy can only get you so far before the fans notice. It’s obvious from their results as the audience are big fans of Muse.
In short, they probably noticed that Aquors were emulating Muse. This is why Aquors didn’t receive a single vote. Still, I’m glad that Seira brought home this point. She said that Aquors should probably give up if they are trying to be like Muse. After all, this is a competition and naturally, they should be serious about aiming for the top, not just to have fun.
Furthermore, it seems that Chika has forgotten something important: support from other people. Chika and the others were focused on aiming for the top that they forgot to attract new fans. Dia mentioned this in the third episode. This is not surprising since Love Live is a popularity contest and without a loyal fan base, you won’t get far. No matter how hard the girls tried, they would have failed either way. Not to mention, Love Live is now bigger now, so imitating Muse’s strategy wouldn’t be feasible.
On the other hand, it’s obvious to see why Dia didn’t want Chika to do the school idol thing. She tried to do it after hearing rumors about the school being merged. She convinced Kanan and Mari to do the school idol thing even though they were reluctant at first. When they got invited to Tokyo to perform, they weren’t able to perform because they were overwhelmed by other groups. In short, Dia and Kanan doesn’t want to be school idols again. It seems that all the convincing in the world won’t change their minds. Still, it’s surprising how different Dia’s personality was two years back. She was a completely different girl.
With all the setbacks, you would think that this would completely break Chika and cause her to give up. Thankfully, she didn’t pull a Honda Mio when she finally realizes that she can’t simply give up. Everyone is in it together. Even if they get a small fan base, at least it’s better than giving up. Hopefully with that, Chika and her friends try to come up with their own strategy to reach their goal. It’s a long road to get out of the tunnel, but hopefully with their efforts, make it to the top 10.
this anime is interesting, I will add this now to my watchlist. Thank you sir, i will also recommend this to my site,
Besides the yurirific moments the wake-up call was needed for Aqours, as cruel as it was. I’m sure they’ll rise again soon.
Yohane was great as usual.
Kanan will regret making Mari wait.
Can’t wait for Perfection to be unchained.
Hopefully You will be comforted by either Chika or another Aqours member.
Not only that, I didn’t expect them to get very far since two-three of their members just joined a while back or so. Didn’t expect them to win, but of course, Chika can’t copy Muse’s playbook forever, especially now the competition is fierce. Still, I think they will pull through once they come up with a different strategy to define Aquors.
