Chika fights on as she continues to ask Riko to join, even if she refuses.
As seen in the last episode, it seems that Chika faces several obstacles. Not only she has trouble finding three more members and getting Dia’s approval, she also needs a lyricist. Riko at first would fit the bill, but sadly she declines. It was funny to see Chika beg to have her join. While it’s funny to see Chika stalk her, I have to admit that it can get somewhat creepy.
While I felt bad for her, especially when Chika lifted her skirt, it’s understandable why she feels this way. It seems that she played piano. Given the flashback where she was unable to play, it’s apparent that she doesn’t enjoy it. It’s understandable that she can’t quit as she invested so much time into it, it doesn’t mean she has to. Its’ true that everyone lacks motivation in a hobby or activity he or she enjoys sometimes. They just need to look at it in a different perspective sometimes.
In short, Chika goes scuba diving with Riko and her friends to listen to the sound of the ocean. In return, Chika introduces Riko to school idols, namely Muse. From this, it seems that Riko has regained the motivation to play music after watching one of their performances. She plays one of Muse’s songs on the piano while singing. It’s obvious that she needs something that motivates her such as putting smiles on people’s face, not just to sparkle. Of course, she doesn’t have to give up piano to do it. The experiences of becoming a school idol can broaden her horizon as a pianist as Chika mentions.
To me, it’s obvious that Riko and Chika is close to being an official couple. The last scene where they reached to touch each other’s hands proves it. With that, at least Chika managed to get over one of the hurdles. Still, she has Dia to deal with since she adamantly said that she wouldn’t allow a School Idol Club. Even so, It’s funny that Dia knows a lot more about Muse compared to Chika. It shows that Chika is merely a poser and wants to imitate Muse’s success. I am not surprised since Chika doesn’t know how to pronounce the name of the idol group she enjoys properly. Then again, I highly doubt Aquors will get very far if they copied everything that Muse stands for.
That awkward scene is all over twitter, lol
I have to say though, Love Live Sunshine really went all out with the shipping. I don’t remember the original Love Live even being remotely close as blatant, lol. Well nonetheless, I like Riko a little bit more now beyond the initial character introductions after her story is told. Wonder if they would go on an episodic format like this for each character.
Yes, that awkward scene is very surprising indeed. Aside from that, it’s nice that they took the shipping to the next level along with focusing on the character development as seen with Riko early on. Makes me wonder how the other character-eccentic episodes will turn out or if some of the development will be broken up into two different seasons as seen with the original.
I said this many times but it bears repeating, Dia is a gift from the idol heavens. Yohane too is special.
Riko’s star shone very brightly this week and Chika X her has the potential to be a great OTP. We’ll see how it goes as the show progresses.
I have to admit that it was funny to see Dia teach Chika a thing about Muse. Still, I am curious about Yohane too, but it looks like she is absent.
But yes, hopefully Riko’s relationship with Chika will develop further since they have a lot of protential.
