As expected, I spent most of my Memorial Day weekend playing games.
Bakuon! – Episode 9
It looks like the girl everyone is anticipating has finally shown up. Yep, it’s Chisame that raced circuits on bikes since her childhood. Apparently, it’s the only sport she can do since she is poor at running at actual races and playing ball. There is no wonder why she is so serious about it and believes that bikes are not meant to be ridden on public roads.
While part of it is because she is too small for a regular sized bike, but then again, she takes racing seriously like how Azusa does with her guitar playing. It’s quite evident after she saw the Bike Club presentation. She went on stage to show what actual biking is like. I have to admit that it was funny to see her do that while her classmates laugh at her because it’s so strange and funny. From this, it’s obvious that she will eventually join to show the girls what actual biking is like.
Aside from that, it’s nice that the girls thought about Raimu when they believed that she was going to graduate. As expected, she decides to repeat another year. This makes me wonder how old she is or how many times she will keep repeating the last year of high school before she moves on. We will never know.
Kumamiko – Episode 9
From the looks of it, it seems that Yoshio came up with an idea to film a commercial which Machi will star in. As expected, she does not want to be in it, but is forced to do it. Still, I have to admit that the second take where they decide to do a catchy song with all the villagers taking part in it was the best part. Sadly, it got ruined by the sponsorship for a clock shop, which make it seem more like a commercial for the clock shop instead of promoting the village. Still, it’s funny to see the old man director yell that it wasn’t his work before he fainted.
Still, I have to admit that Machi looks cute with glasses or rather, in any outfit. Too bad she always gets bullied into doing these things.
Hundred – Episode 9
As expected, the battle was clichéd as Claire faces off against the so called hunters. Eventually, Hayato and the other came to save the day before a powerful dragonfly-shaped savage came to attack while putting a barrier up. Yes, Claire is a very lucky girl since Hayato kisses her again, this time to temporarily share his Variant virus so that all the slayers can take down the barrier while Hayato lands a finishing blow.
While the battle is superficial, it’s somewhat interesting to see that the hunters were actually child slaves that managed to escape and met the same mad scientist that experimented on children and Sakura in an earlier episode. Aside from that, it looks like Emiya Shirou wants his projection magic back.
Pan de Peace – Episode 9
It looks like the rivalry between Mai and Fuyumi is heating up when Mai visits her class’s café during the cultural festival just to take pictures of Moa in a cute outfit. Yes, she did exactly that, which causes Fuyumi to become envious and put too much whip cream. I guess the rivalry will only heat up from here when Mai visits Fuwa Fuyu. Will Fuyumi fight back? We’ll find out next time.
