It’s that time again since the girls have to take midterms. Given that Kodaira can be somewhat evil, she throws a surprise examination that relies on one’s luck.
While Kodaria shown that she can be evil at times, it never gets to the extent where it becomes cruel. At least she gives some mercy. This time, the surprise exam she gives to her students is a virtual casino. Yep, Stephanie from No Game No Life will do terribly at this exam given that she relies too much on luck. Still, this is not so surprising since casino and arcade games are highly dependent on the probability and not so much on pure strategy. Unless one knows the chances of winning, one will do poorly on the test.
As for the exam, one has to play ten games, which will determine the final score. In short, you will fail the examination if one loses all of her points after ten games. In short, one has to win a few times to pass the test, which can be difficult for Hanako given her terrible luck. This is where Timothy comes in as he convinces her and her friends to play a special game that involves dueling.
I have to admit that the dueling game is pretty crazy since the job choices are completely random. With that, Hibari was a knight, Ren a wizard, Botan a priest, Hibiki as an archer and Hanako is a dancer. The latter is completely useless since she can only raise stats compared to Botan who can put people to sleep aside from healing, which sadly gives the opposite effect: it takes away life. This is sad given that she usually injures herself. Still, it’s surprising to see her win against Hibiki.
Like with Hanako’s terrible luck, she got the most useless class as a dancer. It makes me wonder, what role-playing game has a dancer as a job class? Sure, her outfit looks cute, but she is at a huge disadvantage compared to Kodaria, who got the most powerful class possible, a dark knight.
Yes, this is unfair given that Kodaria is dead set to ruin Hanako’s summer plans. Thankfully her friends and even Hibiki and Ren stepped in to defend her. Also, Timothy’s changes the girls’ class to a special Valkyrie class which looks more like magical girls to defeat Kodaria. I have to admit that all their outfits looked adorable.
While the teacher is not impressed by the girls’ intervention and docked all of their points, at least she gives some mercy and splits 10 points to the girls, leaving them with only 2 points. In short, summer vacation is saved. Even so, I have to admit that the duel against Kodaria was crazy and pretty much gives any virtual reality headsets such as the Oculus Rift a run for its money. With that, it makes me wonder what the girls will do on summer vacation. We’ll see next time.
As if the Hibiki X Ren origin story wasn’t enough, this episode came along and catapulted Anne Happy to the list of 2016’s best anime. So much joy and awesomeness in one episode.
Cleric Botan is love. Dancer Hanako was surprisingly sexy.
I do so hope we finally get a swimsuit episode next week.
I agree given that this episode was so fun to watch. Of course, I didn’t expect the last part, which made this episode enjoyable since the girls transform into magical girls.
But yes, hopefully there will be some fun moments next time since its summer break after all.
