At last, a Hibiki centered episode! This makes me wonder how she developed a crush with Ren since they are childhood friends.
Taking a glance at the episode title, it’s quite obvious that the episode focuses on Hibiki, the red-haired girl who happens to have a huge crush on Ren who she met during her childhood. This time, it seems that she got annoyed that Ren won’t walk with her to school.

In other words, she attempted to go to school, but ends up getting lost several times. It’s obvious that she has a terrible sense of direction as seen numerous times, especially in the third episode when she goes towards the exit instead into the maze, which is funny. The funny thing is that she eventually runs into Hibari, who comes to visit a specific construction sign.
I have to admit that it’s funny to see her try to hide it when Hibiki believes that nobody is there, until she found her pass that has a picture of the same construction sign. It’s funny that Hibiki wants to use it against Hibari for giving bad directions when she was the one that went the wrong way. Thankfully, she has a conscious and decides to give it back, which shows that she is not too cold and still have a heart.

Although Hibiki runs into Hanako and saw her get scratched up by cats as usual, she eventually goes by her old kindergarten school, where there is a flashback of her childhood. I’m surprised that Hibiki is not as egotistical back then, but actually a shy girl while Ren is quiet as usual. It’s funny that all the girls in their class became attracted to Ren and of course, she had longer hair back then.

Aside from Hibiki fixing Ren’s origami, they got lost one day on their way to school. Even back then, Hibiki had terrible sense of direction until Ren led her to the school and went through the gate. Sadly, Hibiki’s hair got stuck and she is afraid of cutting a small strand off until Ren cuts hers short. While Ren looked cute with long hair, I guess she doesn’t look bad with short hair. In short, this is the reason why Hibiki still has a huge crush on Ren up to this day, which is heartwarming.

While I’m happy that Ren agrees to escort Hibiki to school after finding her at their old kindergarten, it makes me wonder when Ren is going to recognize her feelings. I guess it’s only a matter of time. Thankfully Hibiki still have a fighting chance since she puts some effort compared to Sharo who still has difficulty to express her feelings towards her crush.
It’s a miracle this episode didn’t hospitalize us.
I agree. It’s heartwarming to see how Hibiki eventually become more than just friends since their childhood and of course the promise they made. Still, I’m hoping that Hibiki and Ren will become the real deal given how obvious Hibiki’s feelings towards Ren.
