It seems that Hibari considers herself fortunate, but is she in reality?
From the looks of it, you would think that Hibarigaoka Ruri (Hibari), would be an ordinary girl since she comes from a decent family. However, that does not seem the case on her way to school. She attempts to save a cheerful girl named Hanakoizumi Anne (Hanako) who is on the verge of falling into a river while a puppy bites her arm.
While Hanako is cute, I can’t help to feel bad towards her since not only she is considered the unluckiest person given that she got the last number, 40 with 4 being an unlucky number in Japan, she fell and almost drowned in a river. It’s not surprising since she gets into trouble trying to save animals that ends up attacking her. Then again, it may not be the case.
Aside from Hanako, Kumegawa Botan is also pretty and you would think that she is fortunate since she came from a high-class family with her parents being doctors. I felt sympathetic towards her too since her health is not exactly good and she can’t treat other people. The funny thing is that she managed to break one of her fingers from Hanako trying to shake her hands. She manages to treat herself thanks to being crazy prepared, which is amazing. Not only that, she faints often, which makes me wonder what terminal illness she has.
From the looks of it, it seems that Habari and the girls she just met managed to get into the last class that focuses on happiness. Yep, it’s obvious what the teacher is hinting at since the girls in the class are all unfortunate in some way or another. Not only that, she can also become scary. Of course, Hibari is in denial until her secret gets revealed.
From the looks of it, their first assignment is to keep an egg from cracking. It seems easy right? Not really given that raw eggs can easily crack. Aside from Hibari taking a detour to a construction site, Hanako and Botan managed to get themselves in a sticky situation as Hanako tries to save a black kitten that scratched her. She shouldn’t have tried to save it or otherwise, she wouldn’t get stuck in the bog. Also, Botan would still have her egg kept in tact. Still, it was hilarious to watch things go horribly wrong.
Aside from that, it seems that after finding Botan and Hanako, it seems that Hibari is not so fortunate after all. While she managed to break her egg somehow, her secret got revealed, which she got teased about in middle school. Yep, she is obsessed over a sign with a construction worker on it. Seems embarrassing, but thankfully Botan and Hanako will keep it a secret since they are in it together. Still, it makes me wonder why she is obsessed over that particular sign. We’ll find out more as she tries to overcome this. At least she now has her own female harem and on the first episode too!
As a whole, it’s funny that Hanako out of all people is the only student in her class that kept her egg in tact. In fact, it hatched into a baby chick. From this, it seems that she is not as unlucky as previously thought. Still, I wonder what wacky assignment the teacher will throw at them next involving a robot rabbit. We’ll see soon enough.
(Note: I will be covering this show on Thursday in future posts.)
This show had an adorable start and I look forward to more, especially the redhead and short haired girl should they get the spotlight then. Until that time comes I ship Hibari X Hanako. Botan is adorable.
Yes, I can’t wait to see more of the girls next time… but still, I agree that the girls are adorable.
It’s nice from what I have seen, and seems to retain somewhat the wacky spirit of Baka to Test. I think I’ll enjoy this show 🙂
I haven’t watch Baka to Test, but given the premise of that show, I do see it being somewhat like it. Still, I can’t wait to see what crazy things happen next time.
