Now that the New Year has finally come, I realized that I completely forgot to share what I want to watch for winter. I guess it’s time to come up with a list quickly, although it will be barren compared to last year.
Musaigen no Phantom World
Studio: Kyoto Animation
Air Date: January 6, 2016
I have to admit that while their other supernatural fantasy show, Kyokai no Kanata has left me with mixed feelings, perhaps this show will be better. Considering the past few shows (Amagi and Hibike! Euphonium) they made, I have some hope that this show will continue this trend as this show focuses on students fighting against “phantoms” or monsters/ghosts in a world born from human imagination.
Haruchika
Studio: PA Works
Air Date: January 6, 2016
From the looks of this show, it’s a childhood romance show with music and mystery mixed into it. Judging from PA Work’s mixed track record lately and shows not necessarily making their mysteries interesting, I hope that they will redeem themselves this time and manage to make the mysteries interesting. After all, it involves a wind instrument club, which makes me wonder how that will play into the mystery solving aspect.
Aside from that, these are the two shows I have in mind at the moment. The third show I plan on watching is still up in the air. I am thinking about trying out Koukaku no Pandora, but we’ll see. Aside from that, I will probably spend my time finishing shows that I didn’t get to watch in the past year and catch up on my video game backlog along with sharing my first impressions for Yoru no Nai Kuni.
With that, what shows are you planning to watch this winter? Feel free to share.
I’m still not sure what to watch at this point to be honest. Maybe Ajin and Durarara, though I’m mostly watching the latter at this point just to force myself to finish off the season, lol. It’s been super dragged out lately.
Musaigen seems interesting but I don’t know, KyoAni and supernatural/action doesn’t seem to go well. Though perhaps basing it only off of Kyoukai no Kanata is a bit unfair.
I haven’t watch the Kyoukai no Kanata movie yet, so I don’t know if it improved over the Anime series… Still, I don’t think it’s fair to base it off that as things might be different. In short, it’s best to keep expectations low.
I’ll keep checking back to see how Phantom World and Haruchika fare. You already know my first impressions of Pandora.
