The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls – Episode 18 – Keep Calm and Smile

August 14, 2015 by Chikorita157 6 Comments
Yes! It finally happened!
Yes! It finally happened!

Finally, Anzu and Kirari became a reality!

From the looks of it, it seems that Candy Island is now participating in the new variety show that debuted last time. Of course, you know what this means, right? Yep, Anzu and Kirari will finally make their faithful pairing. No matter how many times Anzu denies it with her attempts to run away at every possible moment like the first season, I think they make a really good pair because they are complete opposites and oddly enough, they are the same age. In other words, Kirari is not afraid to deny it because she loves to wear cute clothes and of spread the joy.

Yep, they are cute together.
Yep, they are cute together.

In short, she just loves being with Anzu. It’s obvious that Anzu enjoys being around with her too that she doesn’t mind work anymore. What I’m saying? She will probably end up going back to her usual self in a week. At least Kirari has the carrot on the stick also known as candy to motivate her.

Seems that Kanako's dieting got to her.
Seems that Kanako’s dieting got to her.

Aside from that, I felt bad for Kanako. Sure, Chieri’s issue is more clean-cut because she only needed to gain more courage and stop using the frog as her clutch. However, for Kanako, things weren’t easy for her. It’s quite obvious that she is pressured by society to lose weight for being a little too fat.

After forgetting about their fears, they smiled.
After forgetting about their fears, they smiled.

To me, I don’t think she should worry about her weight or let it bother her since her weight is completely normal as mentioned in the first season. I think most people like her for her cuteness and purity that they didn’t care about her weight problem at all. Thankfully, the producer was there along with Sachiko and company to help them along with the way. The end result, it seems that the glass shopkeeper was very happy with Kanako’s and Chieri’s presence as they showed their enthusiasm for the glass cups he made. They just needed to keep calm and smile. After all, it will become the weapon that will break Mushiro’s plan.

Wait! Sachiko is already in!? I’ve gotta get to watching Cinderella Girls NOW!! *runs to the TV*

Well, in Japan, it’s quite pressuring, but I agree with you that being a tad bit overweight is “alright” in one aspect. Yes, not everyone likes the idea, but if your personality is pure, being overweight is not stopper on the window.

Yep, as a side character since she is part of the first wave as seen in the first episode. She shows up in the first season in the episode focusing Candy Island unit.

But yes, you should, it’s a pretty fun show. But in general, weight shouldn’t be an issue and it seems that the western society seems to obsess about weight, especially when it comes to celebrates.

I had seen the first few episodes, but sadly dropepd it during last season due to priorities. But seems like if Sachiko is more than a one-off side character (which I thought she was going to be deemed to be), I’m more than willing to start watching from where I left off.
And very true, she’s part of the first wave, while also being voiced by my favorite VA >.<

Well…I'm also a target of this issue. But in my case, it's more about fitting into the clothes I used to wear and looking like how I was couple years ago.

I honestly didn’t notice them bringing up Kanako’s “thickness” as an issue. I initially saw it as her overworking herself to stay focused but you cleared it up by saying that Kanako was indeed concerned about her “thickness” and the media’s norms on what they deem the “appropriate” weight for female celebrities.
Anyway Kanako’s both cute and sexy. From the start I thought she was the perfect combo. Besides she has a most impressive “artillery”. So yeah yay for Kanako getting her character development arc!

Oh and I do hope you did not expect me to forget about the wonderful acknowledgement of Anzu X Kirari. How could I? It’s about time their love was made public!

The plumpness is the main quality for her character and her figure is relatively realistic compared to other girls who are underweight if you factor in the age adjusted BMI index, she is considered normal. As they say, she has it in the right places. It’s quite obvious since she is well endowed while being cute.

Yep, I’m happy that they finally made it a reality. In fact, Anzu and Kirari is a very popular fan couple for some reason and it seems that they finally acknowledged that fact in the show, which is nice.

Look at dem curves and bust. truly a sexy beast in her own right…even though Rin and Mika would fit that bill better in the media’s eyes.
