With Archer defeated and Gilgamesh at large, Rin and Shirou have to do something that they have never done before in order to stand a chance against him.
Rin is now determined to avenge Archer’s death and stop the Holy Grail from being summoned at the same time. Considering that Saber is not a good match against Gilgamesh, this only leaves Shirou as the best possible match against him, especially if he uses his own version of Unlimited Blade Works. The only problem is that Shirou doesn’t have enough mana to achieve this unless Rin transfer some. You know what this means, right?
When Rin performed the ritual, as expected, we got the CG dolphins yet again, or rather deformed blobs that almost look like dolphins. During the ritual, he saw some of her memories and as expected, Rin got upset. With the family crest is now given to Shirou and now, they are fully prepared for the final showdown.
In short, this episode was a nice transition to the final showdown and I have to admit that there were a lot of cute moments with Rin. Besides watching her throw and beat Shirou with pillows because he saw her secrets, it’s just adorable to see her go full tsundere. She even went so far to call him a brute.
Aside from that, the next episode should be interesting with Shirou’s version of Unlimited Blade Works being shown for the first time. It’s just too bad that Shinji will most likely get rescued from becoming the vessel for the Holy Grail. At least he will get some suffering until the Heaven’s Feel movie, where he will get what he deserves along with his grandfather.
