Dog Days Double Dash – Episode 5
From the looks of it, it seems to me that they are focusing on every kingdom before focusing on other stories. Last time, it as Pastillage where Valerio let out his monsters for his own perverted pleasures, leaving Becky, Nanami, Kou and Adel a mess to clean up. As for this episode, Rico takes Milhi, Becky, Shinku and Yuki on an expedition to collect some crystals. On the way, they found out that a demon ate the forest princess. Shinku and company tries to save her as they defeat a frog demon. Still, I have to admit that the fat frog demon looked pretty gross and he actually ate Shinku. At least it gave him the opportunity to save the princess and defeat it in the process.
While it’s sad that Éclair received very little screen time thus far, it was funny to see her get angry over a big misunderstanding at a spring when she sees a passed out Shinku due to the forest drink the forest people gave him. Hopefully she will get more screen time so that we can see more cute moments with her and Shinku.
Shirobako – Episode 17
Like expected, it seems that the Animators’ suffering continues as the editor acts irresponsible and demands a promotional video within two weeks. Yep, this demand was a curveball that came shortly after the production got delayed after a month. Still, I have a feeling that Ema is getting better at the job, especially when she is helping Kunogi Ai, a new animator who has a hard time communicating with anyone. Even so, I still like the two new female animation assistants because they are doing a better job than Tarou despite losing their way to the studio.
As for Shizuka, at least she is still trying her best when she does an on stage performance for the kids as a plum nose pig. At least she has something to do that might help her land a role. Who knows, she might get a role for the show Musani is producing if one of them falls through. Hopefully it will happen so that she won’t get left out.
