After Rin, Uzuki and Mio met all the girls in their group, the Producer decided to have them perform at a concert with Mika as backup dancers. Are they prepared for it?
It seems that the main trio is finally getting a taste of what is being an idol is like. Like the main series, the girls found out that the dance routines were harder than what they are used to. It’s kind of expected since they are beginners after all. At least they managed to get the routines down decently enough for the performance.
Despite their practice, it seems that they haven’t gotten over their stage fright when they rehearsed on stage. It’s understandable since they are now performing for a crowd, something that they never have thought of doing. While the scenario for this episode felt similar to the Idolmaster movie since Rin, Uzuki and Mio are now performing as backup dancers, at least they didn’t mess up badly. Overall, the performance looked good, which I expected from the start since the animators put a lot of effort in that scene without resorting to CG. While it caused some animation issues with some of the faces, the performance alone made it easy to overlook those flaws.
From the looks of it, this was a great start for the main trio as they finally experienced what it was like to perform on stage. With that, I wonder what songs they will do in the future and whether or not other members are going to perform with as well.
Aside from that, I enjoyed some of the moments with the other members in the group. Besides Miku becoming jealous at the trio and wanting to challenge Mio to a game, which she loses every time, it seems that Anastasia is finally warming up to the main trio as she tries to speak Japanese with a Russian accident. It was pretty cute. Not only that, it seems that Kanako loves cooking so much that she offered the girls treats despite being scolded by the trainer over her weight. I admit that I kind of felt bad for her, but hopefully her idol activities will help in that regard. Aside from that, I wonder when the other girls will get some time in the spotlight besides the main girls. I guess time will tell.
Note: I decided not to cover Isuca and therefore, I will be blogging this show on a weekly basis for now on.
Fried chicken will solve anything…as long as you’re not a vegan or vegetarian.
Yep, and speaking in which, they are the director’s favorite food in Shirobako after all. But still, I wonder how can people eat that many Karaage.
The stomachs of idols are a mystery, let alone that of an anime studio director.
Yep, and I still wonder how can Takane eat all that food without gaining weight… probably her stomach is a bottomless pit.
I thought the trio was going to mess out their first performance, but it turns out pretty smoothly.
I thought so too, but thank goodness it went well and the repeat of the Idolmaster Movie did not happen with the backup dancers messing up badly.
