At last, Anzu finally shows up!
Shirobako – Episode 13
Yep, it’s time for the voice actor selection for the main cast and it was pretty interesting. It seems that some of the people who are deciding had a bias for voice actresses who are big names rather than new ones. Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality that most newcomers have to face as most fans expect popular ones to get the role. Even if the new ones are talented, they won’t get picked, meaning that they are stuck in limbo for years until they finally get a role.
From watching the process unfold, there is no wonder why some of the industry veterans believe that the “Anime industry is full of otakus.” It’s all because of these three guys who are talking about dirty stuff during the selection process. To me, appearance should not be a factor. Talent is more important and whether or not they fit the role.
Unfortunately for Shizuka, she got the short end of the stick. She almost got considered, but ultimately, she didn’t get a role at all. It must be upsetting for her since Misa, Midori, Aoi and Ema are working on the same project together! Then again, I highly doubt that they are going to leave her out completely. She might get a role if one of them falls through since one is pending. Furthermore, the production is still in the planning process and anything can change at this point. Even so, if she ends up getting one of the main roles through some kind of miracle, I wonder how she would react after being rejected and felt left out?
The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls – Episode 2
After Rin decided to become an idol, she and Uzuki finally goes to the 346 Production building. Compared to 765 Productions, 346 Productions is basically in a different league since they have a big castle-like building all to themselves. Not only that, it contains a lot of facilities that you wouldn’t expect such as a massage parlor and a maid café! Aside from that, Honda Mio, a very energetic girl finally gets introduced for real and will be part of the main trio.
As expected, the show is focused around the 14 newcomers, who finally got introduced during the photo shoot. The most notable standouts for me at least are Anzu, Ranko and Anastasia. The first one is obvious for the fact that Anzu (who is 17 years old by the way) is completely lazy and doesn’t do anything but play video games and sleep all day. Because of that, I can’t wait to see the producer and even Kirari drag her out of bed to do some idol work. The last two are pretty obvious. Ranko can be described like such: Takanashi Rikka becomes an idol. As for Anastasia, it’s obvious since the voice actress that is behind her voice is obsessed with Russian culture. Aside from that, I do enjoy most of the girls so far and I can’t wait see the show focus on them besides the main trio.
Dog Days Double Dash – Episode 2
After Sharu found all of Shinku’s and Nanami’s belongings, she allows them to explore the Dragon Land, which happens to keep the nature in balance. After they went to her home, the demons came out once again. While I already expected that Sharu wants to be a lone wolf and she does a good job taking most of the demons down by her self. Sadly, she eventually got outnumbered. At least the members from the three respective kingdoms and of course the heroes came to help her.
While it’s nice to see the whole cast back, I wonder if Sharu will become the fourth girl in Shinku’s harem since she was acting a bit close towards him after being saved. We already have Becky, Éclair and Mihi having interest in our male hero, so I guess life is going to be a bit tough for him if Sharu becomes the 4th member.
From the looks of the next episode, the impending battle with the demons looks rather grim. Since they are outside the barrier, anything can happen. Then again, I highly doubt that anyone will actually die since it’s a mostly light-hearted show, but then again, I just can’t rule it out yet.
