The New Year barely started and Aoi is already stressed out after taking on a higher position of becoming the production desk.
As stated in my previous posts, it’s apparent that adapting an anime from a piece of work is not going to be easy. Given the success of Exodus, Musani is now tasked to make a 13-episode series of a science fiction manga titled Third Aerial Girl’s Squad. Besides Aoi having to do additional work compared to before, I have a feeling that this adaptation is going to be more difficult compared to what they were doing before. Now, everything is on the line if the source material is not covered properly. The problem is, the author did not show up and Chazawa, the person that is in charge of Aerial Girls pretty much left after introducing himself to the director and other key members on the production team. Before leaving, he basically said, “Do whatever you want.” To me, it’s a recipe for trouble because the director might make changes to the story that the author may not like. As a result, this might cause delays in the production due to additional changes. It’s bound to happen since very few authors get involved with the actual production.
Even if Musani has over 9 months to work on the production before it starts airing in October, it’s not a lot of time. From the looks of it, Aoi is already having trouble trying to figure out a schedule for October. Meanwhile, we start seeing some changes happening at Musani. Iguchi is now working on character designs, something that she hasn’t done before while Tarou is the temporary head for the Production Assistant. I’m still surprised that he still has a job considering how much trouble he caused. Regardless, I can’t wait to see the newcomers as the studio holds a voice actor audition to fill in all the roles.
Note: Future episodes impressions will be covered in the Anime Weekly Digest starting next week.
