Christmas is almost here and I am busy with exams… I will be focusing on the 12 days of Anime (will be done in one post), top Japanese Video Games and Anime in the coming days.
Ore Twintail ni narimasu
It seems that Souji is acting strange ever since Isuna (as Dark Grasper) has kissed Tail Red. Is he losing his passion for twin tails? He seems so since he is more interested in Aika and has an urge to kiss her from his fascination with her lips. Can this explain the inability to defeat Spider Guildy (in the actual novels, Worm and Snail Guildy were easily defeated)? Perhaps, the kiss from Isuna made him feel so anxious that he drifted away from Tail Red. It’s a good possibility that Tail Red got so upset that she took Souji’s place permanently (besides the involuntary transformation the first time). I don’t mind since Souji is cuter as Tail Red. In short, Souji basically became what she loves the most, an actual girl with twin tails. Regardless, the next episode is going to be interesting and I wonder how Souji’s mother would react.
Unfortunately, the animation quality for this episode got even worse (it’s noticeable with the complete lack of cell-shading of Tail Yellow’s suit). The lack of quality in recent episodes reminds me of the very thing that Aoi feared in the Episode 7 of Shirobako with the animation quality for Jiggly Heaven going south due to time constraints. The final episode of that show left a negative reception in the viewer’s eyes. While the animation quality is not a total disaster as they eventually fixed it for the stream, I don’t think it will improve the reputation for animation studio. It’s a topic I will focus on at a later date.
Shirobako
In the last episode, Misa seems frustrated by the repetitive work she has to do. Now, she had it and decides to quit. To me, this is perhaps the most foolish decision she made. While I understand that the work she was doing was repetitive and does not help her get closer to achieving her dream, she should have worked there for a year to develop enough skills in order to get a better job. Basically, she set herself for disaster of not being able to find another job to pay the rent. If it were not for Aoi and her friends, she would be in a worse situation.
On the other hand, it seems that the last episode is shaping up rather nicely, except that the director drank too much and became drunk. I wonder how Aoi is going to handle this with only about a month left… We just got to wait and see.
