The Polar Vortex and Blizzard is no match for Honoka, Umi and Kotori!
The big day has finally come as the final preliminary round arrives. Unfortunately, Honoka, Umi and Kotori find themselves stranded after the storm worsened during open house for their school. Of course, through the power of determination and help from the student body, they were able to overcome the harsh snowstorm.
While the buildup is somewhat touching since it’s basically a retelling of the fans’ experiences of waiting outside while it’s snowing to see Muse in real life perform at a concert that happened early this year. To me, watching the three girls endure the harsh snowstorm to reach their destination definitely gave the song “Snow Halation” a new meaning while remembering the willpower the fans that went to see their live performance.
As a whole, while the performance was nice to see at the end, I felt that the rivalry aspect of the show fizzled out abruptly. I assume that the production team thought to themselves that A-RISE will probably not make it to the next round, so they probably yelled, “screw it” as they didn’t want to make another song for them. Therefore, they decided on the snow melodrama instead of giving them a few minutes to perform. It’s disappointing for the fact that the competition between them was fierce. Despite the flaws, the build up to Muse’s performance was still satisfying, so I’ll give them that. Hopefully next time, we’ll get to see who will advance to the final round.
The great Honoka and her team were too busy enduring the forced melodrama to have the captain use her divine power to control the weather and stop the melodramatic blizzard of doom.
Like other LL viewers with common sense, A-RISE vs Muse 2 would have been a far superior way to spend time this week. Oh well, at least the moral support and Muse determined to succeed made up for the lame-o blizzard.
Yep, and she apparently have the power to teleport instantaneously!
I do agree that the snow thing kind of ruined the impact considering that this was the final round of the preliminaries. Even so, I still think the build up was alright although it could have been better.
