As the preliminaries come closer, something seems to be on Nozomi’s mind.
While this episode felt more touching rather than funny, I find it surprising that Nozomi hid her feelings about the past for a long time. Sure, we seen her supporting the group numerous times and help predict the future. Aside from that, she hasn’t receive much attention until now when she reveals her dreams to her friends.
From the looks of it, it seems that her parents moved a lot because of their jobs. Because of this, she wasn’t able to make any friends. Thankfully, through her past experiences, it allowed her to become friends with Eli, who has the tendency to push people away. While the two weren’t able to make any more fans beyond that, it’s not until Nozomi created Muse by helping Honoka come up with a name for the group that things got better. When they joined, they were able to make and bring more friends together that shared similar feelings. Considering that she will be graduating along with Eli in a few months, it’s obvious that she wants the group to help write a song together so that everyone in Muse will remember the fun times forever.
As a whole, this was a touching episode showing how Nozomi’s contribution allowed her to achieve her goal of making a lot of friends. While her creation of the group was a subtle achievement, I’m happy that she got some time in the spotlight so it didn’t go in vain. Aside from that, some of the scenes, especially Umi becoming frightened by a couple that was about to kiss each other in a movie was rather hilarious. With that, I wonder how well they will do against A-RISE and whether or not they will make it to the next round? I guess we’ll find out next week.
Yes, glad to see Nozomi finally get the spotlight; and it goes to show that everything, from friendship to lonliness, comes in many forms.
And I actually prefer Nico-ni’s special happy lovely.
Of course it’s a good thing that she got some time for the fact that she indirectly created Muse and convinced other girls that are in similar situations to join. I think without her, Muse would probably not be as popular and successful as they are.
