As Kumin enlists the help of her friends to help her aunt’s food stand, Rikka tries to regain her powers.
While it’s nice to see yet another beach episode especially for the fact that we get to see everyone having fun on the beach, I felt the focus was more on Rikka and Satone. It seems that Rikka is heading in the same direction like Satone and losing her power because of love. At first, I have a feeling that Satone might have sabotaged Rikka by revealing her past so she can have a better chance of winning Yuuta’s heart. However, I don’t think that is necessarily the case since Rikka brought her along to help halt the loss of power she is experiencing.
This makes me wonder, does Rikka has to give up love for Yuuta in order to reach her goal? As we seen in the battle between her and Satone, this is not the case as Rikka vows that she will remain the Tyrant Eye while maintaining her love for Yuuta. This makes me wonder, was Satone wrong for giving up on Yuuta so easily just because she couldn’t maintain her powers? I think she finally realizes this since her romantic feelings for Yuuta is reawakened after witnessing Rikka regaining her powers. Still, I’m kind of disappointed with the possibility that Rikka will never grow up even if she achieves her goal of reawakening the so-called Dark Dragon.
As a whole, I’m happy that Satone will get more screentime as a rival for Rikka in the fight to win Yuuta’s heart. While I have a feeling that Rikka will win, I am rooting for Satone not because she is a more interesting character, but for the fact that she sacrificed a lot just to stay the person she is. Aside from that, at least it’s nice to see Touka appear out of nowhere while she brings her head chef’s daughter to see Japan as it is. I admit that she was fairly enjoyable as she practices her sword-fighting skills on Sanae and Rikka.
