Weekly Anime Impressions – Winter 2014 – Week 5 – Sakura Trick, Nisekoi Episode 5 and Nagi-Asu Episode 18

February 10, 2014 by Chikorita157 2 Comments

Artist: minazoi kuina

While the winter Olympics in Russia started with a bang last week, it felt like I haven’t gotten anything done for the fact that I got snowed in by not one, but two winter storms! (Image Source)

Nagi no Asukara – Episode 18

asukara-ep18-scr1

Thanks to Miuna, we finally got to see the village several years later in its hibernation state. From the look of it, it’s clear that she is not going to get an idealistic view of the village as told by her mother. From the look of it, she seems scared for the fact that the town was completely motionless. It’s not until she went inside the abandoned school is when she got to see the village in a more positive light. Not only that, she meets the Sea god, which takes notice of her immediately.

On the other hand, Manaka’s appearance in the graveyard of wooden maidens was surprising for the fact that she is losing her Ena. While many people made various theories, there is one thing that can explain this. If you recall in Episode 10, the night before the hibernation, she wished that she didn’t have Ena. Perhaps the sea-god is finally making both of the girls’ desires come true through a sacrifice. The problem is, Hikari and company pretty much screws up the sea god’s plan by saving Manaka. With that, it will be interesting how things will develop from here since she is back. Will Tsumugu finally realize that Manaka has romantic feelings towards him or will she end up with Hikari? We’ll see in the next several episodes.

Sakura Trick – Episode 5

While the coffee shop scene was fun and all, the second half caught my attention for the fact that Mitsuki want to get closer with Haruka. She came close to actually kissing her when reenacting a scene in Snow White, but Yuu cuts them off. Still, it will be funny if Haruka manages to win both Yuu’s and Mitsuki’s heart although it probably won’t happen for obvious reasons.

Nisekoi – Episode 5

nisekoi-ep5

It seems that there is no progress for Kosaki in sight as Ruri tries to hook her up with Raku. While I felt bad for the fact that Raku mistaken the key as the one she usually has with her. Even so, the whole swimming meet felt like a big setup for him to do CPR on Chitoge, although Ruri now has huge doubts that they are a genuine couple.

Other Updates

Last Wednesday, Pokebank has finally released in America. In the upcoming weeks, I will be accepting battle request. However, you may not use hacked Pokemon in any of the battles.

Weekly Rankings for the week of Feb 2nd

  1. Nagi no Asukara
  2. Chuunibyou Ren
  3. Sakura Trick
  4. Nisekoi

I still wonder when Haruka will realize this and how she will react, it’s only a matter of time until that happens.
