Since it’s the New Year, it’s time to take a short look of what I plan on watching for Winter 2014. As always, it’s subject to change.
Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai Ren
Studio – Kyoto Animation
Air Date – January 8, 2014
It took one year, but it’s finally back. While I enjoyed the overall premise of the show for its lighthearted feeling, the drama kind of felt out-of-place towards the end. Hopefully in the sequel, we will finally Shichimiya Satone, which is in the light novels, but never got introduced in the first season. I wonder how crazy she will be compared to Rikka when she finally appears.
Nisekoi (Fake Love)
Studio – Shaft
Air Date – January 11, 2014
I haven’t watched any shows from Shaft lately, but I’m giving this one a try since it’s apparently one of the most anticipated shows in the fandom. From the description, it looks like an interesting romantic comedy I might enjoy.
Sakura Trick
Studio – Studio Deen
Air Date – January 9, 2014
Since I realized that the Sailor Moon reboot won’t be airing this year, I will be covering Sakura Trick instead as the third show. While I haven’t covered that many Yuri shows (although I should watch Yuru Yuri at some point), I do enjoy them.
Aside from that, I plan on blogging only Chuunibyou and possibly Nisekoi for this winter because I will be busy in a few weeks when spring semester begins again. However, I will be posting weekly Anime Digests summing up my brief thoughts on what I watch. Therefore, I will resume watching for Nagi no Asukara in the coming weeks and add it to the weekly digests. Aside from that, this sums up what I plan on watching for this season. With that, what shows are you planning to watch this winter?
Nisekoi’s apparent popularity had me curious as well though I decided not to pick it up since I have more than enough shows to keep me busy. Might consider it more strongly if I have a more concrete idea of what people like about it.
EDIT: What’s Magical Level anyway?
I wonder why people like it too as I did not read the source material… When it airs and after watching three episodes, perhaps I will get some idea what it is.
As for the Magical Level, that is the amount of comments a person made on this site.
Wow, you’re only watching 3 shows from the new season? I guess I was a little optimistic with my 5 picks after all… haha. I’m curious about the anticipation around Nisekoi as well, to me it sounds like any other romance show, but maybe this one will be different.
Hopefully it will be interesting considering that most of the romantic comedies I have is pretty much the same thing in the past few years. I haven’t read the source material, so I’m not going to hype it too much that it will lead me to disappointment.
At a given season, I usually watch 4 to 5 shows. While I will pick up three shows, I still have one from last season that I am somewhat behind on, but will catch up in the coming days.
Only one show we have in common this season. Real life can be quite a pain sometimes with time management and stuff. In any case, tomorrow, or Friday, is the big day.
As writing posts for shows take time, I don’t want to overwork myself from watching a lot of shows… and that I have a lot going in my life already (besides playing video games of course). Summer is usually where I spend more time watching shows.
