After all the training they done from last time, are the boys ready for the Prefectural Tournament? Somewhat.
After Rin had a nightmare, I can understand why revealing Makoto’s emotional story would make sense. While the death of the old fisherman felt rather trivial, it serves as preview of Rin’s story. It seems that Rin’s father failed to achieve his dream as he decided to start a family and eventually perished shortly after he took a fisherman job. Even so, it’s just surprising to see Nitori worrying about Rin for the fact that what he desires is so painfully obvious. He wants to finally beat Haruka so he can carry on his dad’s legacy even if he destroys his relations with his old friends and younger sister. He gets just that.
From the look of the competition, I’m surprised that after all that training, Haruka manages to lose for the second time despite being really close. Still, Rin decides to be a total jerk after beating Haruka. This show that he doesn’t only lacks any sportsmanship, but show how much of a jerk he is that only cares about winning. Sure winning is a good feeling and all, but if you focus only on that, it will only lead to excessive pride that will eventually cause disappointment. I seriously hope Rin loses in the finals so he realizes that it’s not worth treating your former friends that still care about him like crap.
Besides the childishness from Rin being a sore loser, I wonder how well the other boys will do. After witnessing Haruka’s loss, I hope one or all three wins so they can get a bigger budget to have another possible rematch. Still, I wonder how Haruka will deal with his loss and inability to swim with his old friend ever again next time.
I wonder if Rin is the main antagonist throughout the entire series….
And oh, his mouth/teeth looks like a demon’s.
From the looks of it, pretty much… But since you mention about Rin’s teeth, they kind of look unnatural and scary looking. It sort of give anyone a bad feeling when he goes on screen.
Good match between Rin and Haru. I actually expected Haru to win but Rin did have a greater passion to win than Haru so it made sense that he won.
As you see in the next episode, he will probably get win the relay, so it’s not completely over for him.
Looking forward to their rematch. Also hoping for a second season because I doubt they’ll go pro by season’s end. For the love of Pete fanboys. Put your fetishism aside and SUPPORT THIS SHOW! IT DESERVES IT!
