Isn’t Choi going too far with the princess thing? I think so.
If Choi didn’t go overboard with the abrupt announcement, Tamako’s anxiety wouldn’t have become apparent. Besides addressing her highly, she pushes the prince thing on to her without consulting what she thinks about the whole thing. In fact, Tamako simply pushes it aside and doesn’t seem to care about it. At the moment, she only cares about the marketplace with her attempt to win a medal. This is noticeable after she met the prince and after that, denies that she is the bride. To make it more apparent, she makes a big fuss after talking to Mochizou. With that, there is no way in hell it will happen since she loves the market place. Once you take that away, you will have a very depressed Tamako.
On the other hand, there are more reasons why I don’t think it’s going to happen. While everyone seems to support Tamako in marrying the prince, I think they will miss her badly and then want her back afterwards. I think her friends and her father don’t want her to leave either. While Tamako’s father is more vocal about it, it seems that the others are anxious, especially Midori and Mochizou who can’t really hide it well.
In the end, I feel anxious myself after seeing the whole ordeal. I know very well that Tamako won’t be happy if she leaves the marketplace and this episode shows that fact well. While the prince arrives towards the end to hand her lost medal, I think Choi took it out of the bag and then handed it to him. Although this is a conspiracy theory I came up with, I think she really wants to get Tamako with the prince badly even though Tamako doesn’t want to. Honestly, I don’t think she will do it, but Choi will since she has some romantic feelings towards him and the fact that she is not blood related. Who knows, I might be completely wrong if Tamako actually goes along with it and trolls the whole audience.
